Position Title: Senior Project Management Consultant
Work Location: Remote (Manager strongly prefers candidates in the Boston area who will be available to be on-site occasionally on Tuesdays)
Assignment Duration: 2 Months
Part Time Position, 20hr Per Week

Position Summary:
Eexperienced Senior Project Management Consultant to lead the process strategy and implementation blueprint for our Marketing and Communications team over a 2-3 month engagement. Our team includes many independently operating functions, and we need a senior advisor to help bring them together around a shared operating model ahead of a planned fall launch of Asana as our new project management platform. We have already done significant groundwork: the framework is in place, the core team across all functions is identified, and the expanded team and decision-makers for sign-off are established. We need a seasoned consultant with significant agency experience to synthesize that foundation into a build-ready implementation blueprint that can be handed off to Asana’s onboarding team for build. This is an advisory hands-on role that bridges strategy and practical execution.

EDUCATION: Bachelor's degree required
CERTIFICATES, LICENSES, REGISTRATIONS REQUIRED: Asana certification or demonstrated Asana expertise preferred.

EXPERIENCE:
  • 7+ years of experience across marketing, communications, digital, or creative functions.
  • Significant agency experience managing concurrent workstreams across multiple clients and disciplines.
  • Demonstrated experience translating organizational strategy into concrete, build-ready implementation specifications or blueprints.
  • Demonstrated experience leading projects of this scope and complexity while working remotely, keeping distributed teams aligned, accountable and moving forward without in-person interactions.
  • Experience leading process redesign and change management in complex, multi-stakeholder environments.
  • Familiarity with Asana · Preference given toward candidates with healthcare experience, or experience in a similarly regulated industry.

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS & ABILITIES:
  • Strong working knowledge of Asana capabilities so the blueprint is realistic and build-ready for the onboarding team.
  • Ability to synthesize an existing stakeholder map, requirements, and framework into a concrete operating model.
  • Strong understanding of project management methodologies (agile, waterfall, hybrid) and when to apply each.
  • Agency-style fluency managing many concurrent projects across disciplines and clients.
  • Excellent facilitation and stakeholder management skills, with the ability to influence without authority.
  • Ability to quickly assess complex, siloed environments and recommend practical, adoptable solutions.
  • Strong communication and documentation skills, with an emphasis on producing clear, build-ready specifications.
  • Self-directed and proactive, with the ability to move quickly and create momentum within a short engagement.
  • Experience in healthcare or a similarly regulated industry is a plus.
Process assessment and advisory:
  • Build on our existing framework and stakeholder mapping to assess how work currently flows across Marketing and Communications functions, identifying pain points, redundancies, and opportunities for greater coordination.
  • Advise on best practices for cross-functional project management, drawing on agency experience managing many concurrent workstreams across multiple clients and disciplines.
  • Facilitate alignment sessions with a core cross-functional team and functional leads to validate findings and build consensus around a shared operating model.
Implementation blueprint:
  • Translate the agreed upon operating model into a concrete, build-ready Asana implementation blueprint that specifies workspace architecture, project structure, task hierarchies, custom fields, intake forms, approval workflows, and reporting dashboards.
  • Document current-state processes and a recommended future-state operating model with enough specificity that an implementation team can build directly from it.
  • Identify the decisions that need sign-off from the expanded team and leadership, and package them for clear, timely approval
Handoff to Asana onboarding team:
  • Transfer the implementation blueprint to Asana’s onboarding team and walk them through the strategy, answering questions and clarifying intent.
  • Serve as the strategic point of contact during the Asana build, ensuring the platform configuration status true to the agreed operating model.
  • Review the Asana team’s configuration against the blueprint and flag any gaps or misalignments before launch.
  • Provide a short post-handoff consultation window to catch translation issues and help the team go live with confidence.
Change management and handoff to BMC internal team:
  • Serve as a champion for new ways of working, helping teams understand and commit to the share processes before the platform launches.
  • Establish governance practices that define how the operating model and Asana workspace will be maintained over time, including ownership, naming conventions, process for changes, and periodic reviews.
  • Create lightweight documentation and decision summaries that internal owners can use to sustain the model after the engagement ends.
  • Transfer knowledge to internal owners so the team can self-sustain beyond the consultant’s engagement.
