PERSONAL CELL PHONE USE NEEDED AND EXPENSE WILL BE APPROVED FOR PRE-DETERMINED AMOUNT.

Position Summary
The Senior Paralegal provides legal support to litigation and employment law case management.
Research, compose, edit, and proofread pleadings, testimonies, memoranda, correspondence, reports, and various other documents for attorneys, federal, state, and local courts. Record and monitor the docket schedule of court appearance dates, pleadings, cases, and postponements for attorneys. Prepare witnesses and assemble case materials, exhibits, and documents for meetings, hearings, and court appearances. Collaborate with attorneys, client groups, and other support staff to address and resolve various legal matters and compliance issues. Compose non-disclosure agreements regarding the client's policies, procedures, and practices.
 
Qualifications
Minimum:
  • Bachelor s degree or equivalent work experience
  • 5 years of paralegal work experience
  • Master proficiency in law department software and technology
Desired:
  • Paralegal Certificate
  • 7+ years of paralegal work experience
  • 10 years of Legal Assistant experience
  • Ability to provide direction to others and assign tasks to clerical staff
  • Exceptional verbal and written communication skills
  • Excellent client/customer focus
  • Takes initiative and works independently
  • Ability to build consensus and contribute in a team environment
  • Strong time management skills
  • Proficiency with Symantec Clearwell and kCura Relativity Responsibilities
Case Management:
  • Provide management and support of projects and cases related to employment law, electric, gas, civil, and other types of proceedings involving Superior, Appellate and Small Claims Courts under the supervision of an attorney
  • Review for issues and facts from depositions and other case-related documents; categorize documents based upon criteria from attorney
  • Organize, prepare case documents and/or reports such as tables of authority, tables of contents, miscellaneous correspondence, reports for filing with regulatory agencies, standard pleadings, requests for production of documents, interrogatories, standard motions, requests for admissions, hearing summaries, declarations, chronology of events, trial exhibits and oversee the indexing and/or bates labeling
  • Monitor docket activity, production schedules for hearings and discovery responses to help meet all deadlines assigned by attorneys
Legal and Factual Research:
  • Proficient with Lexis/Nexis, Westlaw, Law Library, and regulatory agency websites to conduct research
  • Research factual and legal issues, perform cite checking, editing, proofreading and general quality control to ensure compliance with court and/or regulatory agency rules and regulations 
Other:
  • Develop recommendations to continuously improve case management, administration, and support
  • Proactively communicate status of cases with attorneys
  • Work closely with Discovery Team in all discovery related issues, including identification and review of custodians, documents, and data
  • Assist with other special projects as assigned
