Description: Title: Senior Marketing Specialist Duration: 12 Months Location: Abbott Park, IL 60064
The Senior Specialist, Creative Strategy, will partner closely with the Senior Manager, Creative Strategy, to develop creative briefs that transform marketing strategies into relatable, elevated, and smart creative outputs. You’ll inspire creative solutions and spark ideas that help connect more deeply with the brand. Additionally, the Senior Specialist, Creative Strategy, will be responsible for identifying cultural events, trends, and consumer mindsets. You’ll partner with key cross-functional teams to develop strategically driven creative campaigns and content that attracts, engages, and activates target audiences, while increasing share of voice and brand awareness metrics.
What You’ll Work On • Comfortable writing campaign-level briefs, as well as identifying the data and insights needed for them. • Understands the value of a good briefing as well as the brief itself. • Understands brand and communication theory and knows where to go for the right approach to a specific problem. • Understands the creative process and is a valued partner to creative teams. • Assesses creative work to ensure it is “on strategy” and adds value to creative conversations. • Participates in the construction of communications plans and writes briefs for tactical execution. • Display a passion for understanding people and a desire to uncover new consumer behaviour across various industries and platforms. • Leverages insights to articulate key themes in a clear and compelling story. • Constantly on the pulse of culture, technology, and business to derive insights and new solutions. • Develops points of view that can drive strategies and suggest alternative approaches to solving problems. • Communicates and presents clearly and compellingly. • Champion and influence the development of ideas that reinforce the values of the Abbott brand. • Actively seeks opportunities to share knowledge. • A trusted, independent strategist who is collaborative with others and efficient with their work. • Inform the team with high-quality, engaging content that inspires the team to build meaningful connections and encourages consumers to act.
Required Qualifications • A bachelor’s degree in communications, business, marketing or related field is required. • More than 4 years of experience in a high-level communications environment within an advertising agency preferred. • Able to achieve results within a rapidly changing, fluid and highly matrixed environment • Deep passion for understanding consumer behavior. • Candidates must have a track record of excellent professional writing, communication, and project management skills with the ability to manage multiple projects. • Ability to and experience in thinking ‘outside the box’ when it comes to strategic product communications and creative. • Positive, can-do attitude; ability and willingness to do what is needed to get a job done.
