Job Title:SeniorChannel Communications Lead, (Strategy and Operations) Duration: 6 months Assignment Location: CA (Fully remote) Shift/Hours: 40hours/week, PST hours, M to F
Summary:
We’re seeking a highly experienced, dynamic operator to help lead a communications team that is building visibility and advancing awareness for the unique experiences and benefits only client can provide.
This person will have a proven track record of managing cross-functional teams in order to help us deliver innovative messaging and engagement strategies across the Client’s Newsroom, owned and partner social, key executive social and influencer channels.
This role will be a key player in leading strategy and planning to advance and evolve our communication strategies as media consumption integrates even deeper amongst press, social media and influencer.
This role will be expected to be highly collaborative with client’s broader Communications, Marketing, Product and Customer Service teams, and report directly into the Director of Channel Communications.
The right candidate will already be recognized as a leader in their field at this level, with a proven track record of using a range of strategies and disciplines to solve complex and ambiguous problems.
They will also have a history of delivering projects across cross-functional teams, taking a strategic leadership role, and anticipating challenges.
You must be comfortable working in a global company, delivering counsel and guidance to senior leadership across the team. The successful candidate will have solid experience of creating internal advocacy among multiple senior audiences.
A typical day:
Leads operationalizing and mobilizing a multi-expertise team to deliver effective communication strategies across channels, mapping to business objectives
Represents Channel Communications in operational conversations about planning, budget, organization design, ways of working, process and career development. Also represents Channel Communications in cross functional conversations with teams such as marketing, biztech, social listening, creative, BA, and legal.
Proactively develop solutions, find efficiencies and improve processes across team operations
Solves for any gaps in standardization of reporting, templates and tools across the team and establishes an operating system for ways of working within the team, across the Communications team, and the business
Manages overall strategic social decision making and implementation i.e. channel prioritization, content strategy, emerging channels
Supports analysing the measurement and impact of content and distribution strategies using preferred tools and platform
Skills:
15+ years of communications experience (ideally a combination of in-house and agency) with significant time spent in social media and influencer engagement
Experience using social to help elevate executives and business objectives
Deep understanding of changing press, social and influencer landscape and how to effectively and holistically approach for maximum impact
A proven history of encouraging and developing innovative industry-leading thinking and turning it into executable plans and campaigns
Knowledge and experience in building and executing campaigns across Twitter, LinkedIn, Instagram and TikTok and emerging channels like Reddit
Experience working with influencers and content creators
Experience in collaborating closely with Marketing teams, reconciling differences in goals, but able to build and execute mutually beneficial and effective social and influencer strategies mapping to business objectives
Strong writer with attention to detail and experience in crafting highly effective press material and social copy
Knowledge and experience with creative production processes and workflows
Experience in managing a multi-faceted team and growing team members
Business development mindset where communications directly contribute to business objectives
Positive and collaborative personality and a commitment to ensuring all activities undertaken are as successful as possible
Extremely capable in independently structuring and managing fast paced and sometimes complex workflow and priorities
A strategy and operations leader with both a record of leading high performing teams, and experience of working with cross-functional teams to drive success
Excellent problem solver with ability to anticipate future issues, unblock the most complex situations and facilitate drama-free environments where the team will thrive
