Job Title: Senior Business Project Manager Focus: Strategic, Non IT initiatives Duration: 6 Months (extension likely) Location: Toronto / Hybrid
Mandate Summary We are seeking an Expert Project Manager (Contract)to establish and lead a complex, non IT strategic workstream within an Enterprise Program sponsored by Corporate Treasury at cleint. This initiative includes launching a new Target Operating Model within Corporate Finance and spans engagement across multiple functions and business groups. The contractor will serve as the primary day to day project lead and executive interface, accountable for driving delivery and ensuring that measurable business outcomes—not activity—define success. Key Accountabilities Strategic Delivery Leadership
Lead complex, enterprise wide initiatives involving multiple internal teams, external partners, and matrixed stakeholders
Own end to end accountability for defining, planning, orchestrating, and delivering strategic projects, including all business, operational, and non IT deliverables
Ensure strong alignment between business strategy, project scope, and expected outcomes
Project Lifecycle & Governance
Manage all phases of the project lifecycle from initiation through transition to business/operations
Coordinate with business, corporate, and IT partners as required to deliver integrated outcomes
Chair core team meetings and executive governance forums (e.g., Steering Committees, Operating Committees, decision forums)
Represent the initiative in enterprise project governance and inter departmental forums
Stakeholder & Executive Management
Build and maintain strong working relationships with stakeholders at all levels, including senior and executive leadership
Lead clear, concise executive communications, briefings, and decision support materials
Navigate and influence effectively within a highly matrixed organization
Planning, Controls & Reporting
Rigorously manage scope to ensure delivery within agreed time, cost, and quality parameters
Define and track milestones; maintain and report against an integrated delivery plan
Develop and maintain core project artifacts, including:
Project charter
Integrated project plan
Resource and contingency plans
Executive-level status reports
Monitor and control delivery; recommend adjustments and mitigation strategies to the Accountable Executive
Standards & Continuous Improvement
Ensure compliance with enterprise standards (Project Management, Risk, Audit, Compliance)
Contribute to the advancement of project management best practices to improve execution discipline, transparency, and consistency
Required Experience
University degree and/or 7–10+ years of relevant project management experience
Demonstrated success leading large-scale, complex, strategic initiatives
Experience working in regulated, enterprise, or highly matrixed environments
Industry specific experience considered an asset

Strong potential for extension based on delivery outcomes
