Job Title: Senior Automation Scientist
Location: New Brunswick, NJ- 08903 (Onsite)
Duration: 12 months


Top Must Have's:
  • Detailed laboratory experience working with automation/ liquid handling workstations; Preference is given to Unchained Labs, Chemspeed and Hamilton Systems.
  • Details of candidate's expertise in writing scripts for liquid handlers is a must.
  • Applicable experience using general purpose programming languages (e.g. VB, Python, Perl, R, C++/C#)
  • Their Knowledge and experience in typical analytical techniques such as HPLC, UPLC, CE-SDS, iCE and high- throughput purification.
  • Candidate must have the ability to troubleshoot liquid handling devices related issues. Will look for examples of this noted on the candidate's resume.

Job Description:
Integrated Technology & Engineering Team is seeking for a talented and experienced candidate to join their team. The candidate will get an opportunity to engage in developing cutting-edge analytical automation technologies at a world-class drug product development environment.

Automation Scientist
The successful candidate will operationalize automation/robotic initiatives within the Product Development organization. This involves development of drug product automation activities, troubleshooting support as applicable, management of automation development project portfolio, and introduction of fit for purpose robotic capabilities across different sites within the organization. The role requires the establishment of automation/robotic solutions by identifying gaps and opportunities within the existing development protocols to enhance business efficiency and agility.

Analytical & Formulation Support on Development Pipeline Assets
This function is focused on providing automation support to formulation and analytical development projects. The successful candidate will work closely with stakeholder to ensure we are utilizing and developing the right automation formulation development platforms to align with their development needs. Typical formulation development support includes the execution of flexible methods for sample preparation, data analysis, interpretation, and reporting of results in timely manner.

Qualifications:
Education:
  • Bachelor’s degree in Chemical Engineering, Computer Science, Bioinformatics, Biochemistry, or related scientific
  • discipline. Masters or Ph.D. is highly desirable.
Expertise:
  • Minimum of 1 years experience is required of laboratory experience working with automation/ liquid handling
  • workstations; Preference is given to Unchained Labs, Chemspeed and Hamilton Systems.
  • Strong expertise in writing scripts for liquid handlers is a must.
  • Strong computer skills, including proficiency general purpose programming languages (e.g. VB, Python, Perl, R, C++/C#) is preferred.
  • Knowledge and experience in typical analytical techniques such as HPLC, UPLC, CE-SDS, iCE and high- throughput purification are desirable.
  • Ability to troubleshoot liquid handling devices related issues.
