Job Description

Job title: Senior Accountant
Duration: 06 Months Temp role.
Location: Princeton, NJ (08540)
(Hybrid. Monday/Friday home and Tuesday-Thursday in the office)

Working Hours: Flexible starting anywhere between 7AM and 9AM.

Note: Someone with a good knowledge of AP. These invoices should be rather simple, so Hiring Manager is looking for someone with a broad knowledge of processes, AP, accounting, project mgmt.

Top 3 Must Haves for this role
• Robust organizational skills
• The ability to handle more than one project at a time.
• Knowledge of AP but  person with a broader background of reconciliations, POs, and being able to communicate well.

Main job responsibilities
• Processing invoices for a direct suppliers in a legacy system – related to an acquisition closing on April 1
• Working with supplier queries
• Reconciling statements
• Handling misdirected invoices that belong to the company we are acquiring or J&J who used to own this company.
• Assisting with T&E reviews to ensure compliance with our policy.
• Assisting with managing projects

Requirements
  • Candidates for senior accountant positions should possess solid communication, technology, organizational and analytical skills.
  • Companies hiring senior accountants generally look for at least three years’ experience, along with a bachelor’s degree in accounting or finance.
  • Accreditations such as certified public accountant (CPA) or certified management accountant (CMA) are also preferred.
Typical duties include:
Reconciling sub-ledger to general ledger account balances, preparing financial statements , assessing internal controls, including risk assessments and reviews of risk areas , assisting with budget preparation and preparing the monthly budget variance analyses , maintaining and reconciling fixed assets schedules , assisting with initial internal control evaluations and supervising accounting staff.
 
Experience Required:
7+ years of experience.
