Description: About the Global Events Center of Excellence (COE) The Global Events Center of Excellence (COE) is the strategic hub for our organization’s most critical and high-impact corporate gatherings. The COE exists to set the standard for event execution company-wide—establishing best practices, standardizing procurement and venue sourcing, and ensuring that every event strictly aligns with our corporate messaging and strategic goals. Rather than just handling logistics, the COE elevates the overall attendee experience and maximizes ROI. Working within the COE means you are part of a specialized, high-performing team dedicated to delivering world-class events that drive our business forward. Position Overview Reporting directly to the Head of Global Event Strategy, this contract role is designed to provide high-level operational support and event delivery management during a peak period. We are looking for an exceptional, hands-on event professional who thrives on bringing complex strategies to life. Rather than setting the overarching strategic direction, your role is to operationalize and execute the vision established by the Head of Global Event Strategy. You will act as a key operational partner—managing the day-to-day event milestones, driving sponsorship operations, and freeing up the Head of Strategy to focus on executive alignment and long-term planning. You must be a highly capable "doer" with a strategic mind, who can step in to oversee planning meetings as a supportive proxy when the Head of Strategy is unavailable. Key Responsibilities
Operational Execution of Event Strategy: Translate the event visions and frameworks designed by the Head of Global Event Strategy into actionable event timelines, tracking milestones, and ensuring flawless on-site execution.
Operational Proxy & Collaboration: Represent the Global Events function in tactical planning meetings, confidently interacting with all levels of seniority. Ensure the Head of Strategy's directions are clearly communicated and executed by the broader team.
End-to-End Event Delivery: Assist with the general planning of large-scale corporate events (1,000+ attendees). Occasionally take full operational ownership of specific COE-led events, managing every aspect from registration sites and venue sourcing to production and post-event follow-up.
Sponsorship & Content Support: Take day-to-day ownership of sponsorship management, contract coordination, and development. Collaborate with stakeholders to help translate corporate messaging into actionable, engaging event content.
Budget & Procurement Administration: Exercise meticulous budget management, identifying cost-efficiencies while demonstrating the creativity needed to deliver premium experiences within stipulated financial parameters. Navigate procurement workflows, Master Service Agreements (MSAs), contract negotiations, and venue sourcing efficiently.
Qualifications & Requirements
Experience: Minimum of 5 years of experience specifically managing large-scale corporate conferences (1,000+ attendees).
Event Expertise: Deep knowledge of the intricacies of planning large-scale events, including event operations, contract negotiation, working with production teams, and managing registration platforms. Must possess a true passion for the industry and a solid understanding of current event trends.
Financial Acumen: Proven ability to manage large event budgets effectively without compromising on quality or attendee experience.
Communication & Culture: Highly confident working with all levels of corporate seniority. Must navigate a vast team dynamic seamlessly and possess excellent people skills for working across various cultures and departments.
Working Style: A quick learner and proactive "doer" who can immediately hit the ground running. Must be an adaptable team player eager to get involved in all areas of the event lifecycle.
