Position Overview Seeking a skilled Hydraulic Mechanic to perform preventive and corrective maintenance on the company’s fleet, trucks, machinery, and equipment used throughout its plant and workshop operations. The selected candidate will diagnose mechanical and hydraulic issues, perform repairs and installations, and ensure that all assigned equipment operates safely and efficiently. The ideal candidate is responsible, safety-oriented, organized, and capable of working both independently and as part of a team.
Key Responsibilities
Inspect, diagnose, and repair hydraulic systems in trucks, fleet vehicles, machinery, and industrial equipment.
Perform preventive and corrective maintenance on pumps, cylinders, valves, hoses, fittings, and other hydraulic components.
Identify leaks, pressure loss, wear, and other hydraulic system failures.
Install, replace, adjust, and test hydraulic and mechanical components.
Perform general mechanical repairs on company trucks, vehicles, and equipment.
Read and interpret hydraulic diagrams, technical manuals, and manufacturer specifications.
Safely operate hand tools, power tools, and diagnostic equipment.
Document completed work, parts used, and conditions identified during inspections.
Keep tools and work areas clean, organized, and safe.
Promptly report conditions that may affect employee safety or operational continuity.
Follow occupational safety standards, internal procedures, and company environmental policies.
Assist with other plant and fleet maintenance duties as needed.
Qualifications
High school diploma or equivalent.
Technical degree or certification in Industrial Mechanics, Automotive Mechanics, Diesel Mechanics, Hydraulic Systems, or a related field is preferred.
Previous experience working with hydraulic systems, fleets, trucks, or heavy machinery.
Knowledge of hydraulic pumps, cylinders, valves, lines, hoses, and pressure systems.
Ability to diagnose and troubleshoot mechanical and hydraulic failures.
Ability to safely use tools and diagnostic equipment.
Ability to work effectively in a plant and workshop environment.
Strong communication and teamwork skills.
Valid Puerto Rico driver’s license.
Availability to work additional hours or respond to operational needs when required.
Physical Requirements and Working Conditions
Ability to lift, move, and handle heavy tools, parts, and materials.
Ability to stand, walk, bend, kneel, and work in different positions for extended periods.
Ability to work in areas that may include noise, dust, heat, grease, oil, and moving vehicles or machinery.
Must use the required personal protective equipment.
