Physical Therapist Location: Dalton, GA Duration: Permanent
Position Summary Client is seeking a Physical Therapist (PT) responsible for evaluating patients, developing individualized treatment plans, implementing physical therapy interventions, and completing all required patient care documentation. The Physical Therapist will provide care to patients across the lifespan, including neonatal, pediatric, adolescent, adult, and geriatric populations. The position may support both inpatient and outpatient settings and includes responsibility for appropriately delegating patient care to licensed Physical Therapist Assistants (PTAs) and overseeing Rehab Care Aides.
Key Responsibilities
Perform comprehensive physical therapy evaluations following physician referrals.
Assess patient mobility, physical function, limitations, and rehabilitation needs.
Develop individualized treatment plans with measurable and attainable goals.
Provide evidence-based physical therapy treatment to patients across all age populations.
Monitor patient response to treatment and modify treatment plans as clinically appropriate.
Assess patient readiness for discharge and develop appropriate follow-up plans, including referrals and home exercise programs.
Delegate appropriate patient cases and treatment activities to licensed PTAs and provide necessary oversight.
Provide direction and oversight to Rehab Care Aides as appropriate.
Educate patients and families regarding treatment plans, goals, exercises, and ongoing care.
Maintain patient safety throughout evaluation and treatment.
Complete accurate and timely evaluations, progress notes, discharge documentation, patient charges, and other required clinical records.
Collaborate with physicians, nursing, rehabilitation staff, and other members of the interdisciplinary care team.
Participate in discharge planning and coordination of patient care.
Assist with orientation, education, and development of rehabilitation staff, students, and other personnel as requested.
Participate in departmental quality improvement initiatives, continuing education, and community programs.
Maintain therapy equipment and treatment areas in a safe and organized manner.
The PT is responsible for the full patient-care cycle, including evaluation, treatment planning, treatment, monitoring progress, discharge planning, and appropriate delegation of care.
Qualifications Education
Graduate of an accredited Physical Therapy program.
Licensure & Certifications
Current Physical Therapist license in the State of Georgia or eligible for Georgia licensure.
BLS/CPR certification required.
Experience
Previous Physical Therapy experience is welcomed but not required; new graduates may be considered.

Schedule & Work Environment The Physical Therapist may work within inpatient units, outpatient clinics, and community-based settings. A flexible schedule may be required based on departmental and patient needs, including participation in weekend and holiday coverage rotations. The position is physically active and requires a substantial amount of walking, as well as frequent lifting, bending, reaching, and hands-on assistance with patient care. The Physical Therapist must be comfortable working within the physical and mental demands of a rehabilitation and healthcare environment.
