We are looking for a talented Veterinary Technician with laboratory animal research experience. In collaboration with the Veterinarian, handle the day to day veterinary care
Perform routine and specialized veterinary technical procedures including anesthesia monitoring, surgical assistance, sample collection, and medication administration
Maintain accurate medical records and ensure compliance with all regulatory requirements
Adhere to the institutional standard operating procedures (SOPs) for animal care and use
Monitor animal health daily and report any concerns to the Veterinarian
Manage inventory of veterinary supplies and equipment, ensuring adequate stock levels
Participate in facility inspections and contribute to continuous improvement initiatives
Key qualifications:
At least 3 years of professional experience in the research laboratory animal medicine setting.
Evidence of exceptional judgment and trustworthiness.
Excellent written and oral communication skills.
Strong knowledge of laboratory animal regulations and guidelines
Proficiency in animal handling techniques for multiple species
Ability to work independently and as part of a collaborative team
Detail-oriented with strong organizational skills
Physical ability to lift up to 50 pounds and stand for extended periods
Must be able to work a flex schedule to include one weekend day
Experience with surgical procedures in animal models
Familiarity with GLP (Good Laboratory Practice) standards
