Job Title: Leave of Absence Case Manager – Part-Time (20 hrs/week Location: 100% Remote (W2 role) Duration: 3 Months Hours : Part time 20 hrs
Position Summary The Case Manager delivers best-in-class leave of absence (LOA), workers’ compensation (WC), and accommodation services. You will manage an assigned caseload in coordination with the third-party administrator (TPA) to ensure compliant, smooth experiences for employees. Core work includes tracking cases per , federal, and state regulations and policies; maintaining ongoing communication with employees, managers, healthcare providers, and agencies; and developing plans that resolve absences effectively. Essential Responsibilities / Duties
Serve as primary point of contact for assigned staff on leave, WC, and disability matters; provide holistic case management.
Navigate and respond to inquiries about leave, WC, disability options, and available supports.
Coordinate with the TPA to adjust leaves in compliance with applicable laws and policy.
Monitor, track, and maintain records for work-related injuries and absences; prepare periodic reports on absences and modified duty.
Educate managers and business partners on employee needs before, during, and after leave or return-to-work.
Provide regular verbal and written updates to employees and stakeholders.
Ensure compliance with standard work, federal/state regulations, and company policy; maintain accurate system records.
Partner with TPA, HR, Safety, Legal, Payroll, Benefits, managers, and other departments.
Critically assess and adjust case plans as employee needs change; troubleshoot and remove barriers.
Minimum 2 years of relevant work experience required.
Experience with FMLA, PFML, out-of-state statutory leaves, or workers’ compensation preferred.
Kronos and Workday experience preferred.
Knowledge & Skills
Thorough knowledge of federal and state laws, regulations, rules, policies, and procedures governing workplace absence and disability (occupational and non-occupational).
Thorough knowledge of ADA regulations and compliance.
Strong MS Office / data-entry skills and ability to work with spreadsheets.
Strong analytical, interpersonal, problem-solving, judgment, and multi-tasking skills.
Ability to work independently and as part of a team; adapt to change.
Detail-oriented with good judgment; ability to handle confidential information.
