Role Summary

We are looking for an expert-level Senior Match Move Artist with 10+ years of relevant experience in feature films, episodic content, high-end commercials, or other high-quality VFX environments.

This is a highly specialized role, and seniority is non-negotiable. The ideal candidate should have extensive hands-on experience in character match move, 3D camera tracking, body tracking, and 2D/3D integration, with strong expertise in Autodesk Maya.

The candidate must be able to work independently in fast-paced, high-turnaround environments and translate ambiguous creative briefs into clean, technically accurate execution.

Key Responsibilities

• Execute complex character and body match move work for live-action plates.
• Perform accurate 3D camera tracking and camera solving.
• Handle body tracking and character tracking on complex live-action footage.
• Integrate 2D and 3D elements accurately into challenging live-action plates.
• Work with complex and generic character rigs and ensure accurate matching and fitting.
• Troubleshoot difficult tracking and match-move challenges while maintaining high technical accuracy.
• Deliver clean, production-ready work within tight deadlines.
• Translate creative/ambiguous briefs into clear technical execution.
• Mentor junior artists and provide technical guidance.
• Help establish and maintain studio-quality standards and technical thresholds.
• Collaborate effectively with artists, supervisors and other production teams.
• Work comfortably in a high-pressure, fast-turnaround production environment.

We are seeking an elite Senior / Lead Matchmove & Roto Expert with 10+ years of industry experience to spearhead complex tracking, rotoscoping, and 3D integration pipelines. You will act as a technical authority, solving the most demanding tracking and edge challenges while mentoring junior artists. You thrive in high-pressure, fast-paced environments, easily transforming ambiguous creative briefs into flawless technical execution under tight deadlines.

Key Responsibilities

• Advanced Tracking & Integration: Lead high-complexity 3D camera solves, body tracking, and 2D/3D integration workflows across challenging live-action plates.

• Pipeline & Lens Distortion Leadership: Master complex undistort/redistort lens distortion workflows, ensuring seamless data handoffs between 3D, matchmove, roto, and compositing departments.

• Mattes, Keying & Procedural Workflows: Architect advanced rotoscoping, procedural matte generation, and chroma/luma keying strategies for difficult elements (hair, motion blur, fine transparencies).

• Department Mentorship & Quality Control: Establish studio quality thresholds, review high-stakes shots for temporal stability, and mentor artists in advanced tracking and rotoscope techniques.

• Cross-Team Communication & Brief Interpretation: Bridge creative and technical teams, proactively clarifying open-ended or ambiguous briefs and streamlining production momentum on fast turnarounds.

• Asset & Pipeline Management: Enforce naming conventions and leverage cloud collaboration tools (such as Google Drive) alongside internal pipeline architecture for efficient asset review.

Required Skills & Software Proficiency

• Core Software: Expert-level mastery of feature film quality character matchmove in Maya

• Leadership & Problem-Solving: Proven ability to fit mismatched generic rigs, technical problem-solving under tight production schedules.

Qualifications & Experience

• Experience: 10+ years of professional VFX experience in feature film, episodic television, or high-end commercials, with significant leadership or senior-level credits.

• Showreel: An exceptional demo reel showcasing complex character body-tracking.

• Soft Skills: Exceptional communication, calm leadership under extreme pressure, and the ability to navigate ambiguous project requirements with confidence.
