Role Overview:

The Corporate Tax Senior Associate will be part of the Corporate Tax Practice, supporting clients with business income tax planning, corporate tax compliance, and ASC 740 income tax accounting. This role will also support engagement management, client relationships, tax research, and the supervision and development of junior tax professionals.

Key Responsibilities:

• Manage client tax engagements from planning through completion, including execution, direction, budgeting, and delivery.
• Manage multiple client engagements within the corporate tax service line.
• Supervise, train, and mentor Associates and Interns and provide performance feedback.
• Review corporate tax returns prepared by staff and identify accuracy issues and tax savings opportunities.
• Prepare and/or perform primary review of ASC 740 income tax provisions.
• Support or perform tax provision preparation and audit support.
• Research and advise on various federal and state tax matters.
• Use tax-related software to prepare and process tax returns.
• Respond to inquiries from the IRS, state tax authorities, and other taxing authorities.
• Develop and maintain strong relationships with clients and client management.
• Gather required client information and understand client operations, processes, and business objectives.
• Collaborate with tax specialists and other professionals, including the Washington National Tax Office (WNTO).
• Participate in professional development and tax training.
• Maintain strict client confidentiality and the highest professional standards.
• Travel as needed.

Must-haves:

• Minimum of 1-2 years at the senior associate level, CPA is preferred - promotion to manager requires active CPA or active JD/Attorney's license; experience with corporate/federal compliance-form 1120 for clients with revenue between $50M up to $1B, end to end experience with ASC 740 tax provision (prep, review and audit)

Required Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting
• 2–4 years of progressive tax compliance and/or tax consulting experience
• ASC 740 tax provision experience strongly preferred
• Strong verbal and written communication skills
• Strong analytical and teamwork skills
• Excellent attention to detail
• Ability to work effectively with clients and internal teams
• Ability to travel as needed

Preferred Qualifications:

• CPA preferred
• Public accounting experience preferred/plus
• Experience with corporate tax compliance
• Experience with ASC 740 / income tax provision
• Experience supervising or mentoring junior tax professionals
