Location: Jayuya, PR Pay Rate: $15.50 / Hourly Schedule: Sunday through Thursday or Sunday through Friday, with one weekday off, depending on business needs.
Job Purpose: Operates weighing and analytical scales, as well as mixing equipment, to blend pharmaceutical materials into solutions for processing. Ensures compliance with all internal procedures, regulatory requirements, and applicable standards.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
Performs weighing and mixing processes of raw pharmaceutical materials (such as Amino Acids, Metronidazole, Heparin, Milrinone, etc.) according to established procedures, available resources, and production requirements. This includes the hydrolysis process of lactic acid.
Starts equipment and adjusts valves and controls for the mixing process.
Operates mixing equipment until the solution reaches the required consistency according to established specifications.
Operates auxiliary equipment used to prepare mixtures for final processing.
Performs routine care and operation of automatic mixing equipment.
Ensures all drug mixing activities comply with established standards, SOPs, Good Documentation Practices (GDP), and cGMP requirements.
Follows and complies with established SOPs, specifications, procedures, and applicable CFR requirements.
Identifies and resolves daily quality and material issues to support efficient, effective, and safe product release.
Participates in new product protocols and related activities.
Completes, reviews, and maintains required documentation and reports (daily, weekly, monthly, and annual) in compliance with cGMPs, cGDPs, and internal and external standards.
Coordinates, monitors, and performs sampling handling processes and submits samples to the Plant Pharmacist as required.
Performs routine area audits to ensure compliance with company procedures and regulatory requirements.
Maintains a teamwork-oriented approach and collaborates effectively with coworkers.
Performs special projects and additional assignments as required.
Performs drug inventory/head counts according to established procedures.
Must be willing to work overtime, different shifts, and weekends as required.
Provides support and backup to the Manufacturing Department (Mixing Area) as needed.
Works independently with minimal supervision.
Maintains the work area clean, organized, and compliant with workplace standards.
Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals.
Ability to complete routine reports and written documentation.
Ability to communicate effectively with supervisors, peers, and coworkers.
Ability to read, write, and understand English and Spanish.
Strong documentation practices and the ability to identify errors in documents are required.
Must have basic mathematical skills, as the position involves weighing and measuring materials.
Note:
Must be able to lift 100 lbs. of material bags. Material weighing is performed manually.
