Position Summary Client is seeking a Senior General Accountant to join its Corporate Accounting team in Johns Creek, GA. This position supports the company's continued growth and ongoing acquisition activity while serving as a key contributor to financial reporting, technical accounting, general ledger operations, and process improvement initiatives. The ideal candidate is a self-starter who can independently manage accounting responsibilities, lead projects with minimal supervision, and mentor junior accounting staff. This position offers strong visibility across the organization while partnering with Accounting leadership, plant operations, regional controllers, and executive management.
Responsibilities
Prepare and review monthly, quarterly, and annual financial reporting.
Analyze general ledger activity and investigate financial variances.
Prepare complex journal entries and balance sheet reconciliations.
Support month-end, quarter-end, and year-end close.
Research and apply US GAAP guidance related to technical accounting matters.
Prepare financial statement disclosures and assist with external reporting.
Support acquisition accounting and ongoing M&A integration activities.
Perform financial analysis and large data manipulation utilizing JD Edwards and advanced Excel.
Partner with regional controllers, plant managers, and operational leadership.
Identify and implement process improvements to increase efficiency.
Supervise and mentor approximately 2-3 direct reports.
Participate in special projects and other corporate accounting initiatives.
Qualifications Required
Bachelor's Degree in Accounting or Finance.
4+ years of progressive accounting experience.
Experience within a large corporate accounting environment.
Strong knowledge of US GAAP.
Financial reporting and technical accounting experience.
Advanced Microsoft Excel skills.
Experience working within a large ERP environment.
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
Preferred
Manufacturing accounting experience.
Public accounting (Audit) experience.
CPA or CPA-track.
JD Edwards experience.
Experience supporting acquisitions and technical accounting.

Power BI
Showcase Query (or similar reporting tools)
Approximately 40% of the role is spent in JD Edwards, with the remaining time focused on reporting, financial analysis, and Excel.
