Location: Toronto, ON (Hybrid: Minimum 2 for now, could go up to 4 days)
Duration: 12 months
Schedule: m to f – core business hours

Department Overview:

  • The Global Operations team partners with the front office and other groups globally to mitigate risk and deliver world class service to our global client base. They provide operational support and control functions across the trade lifecycle.  The team is heavily involved in new product initiatives and process improvements to streamline our support model.  They take great pride in ensuring controls are being continuously reviewed and updated while focusing on the customer at every point of contact.

Role Details:
  • The primary accountability of the role is to investigate, improve, and redesign existing processes and pain points within the reconciliations control space.  Your high energy and desire to invoke change will enable you to find creative solutions that not only optimize the efficiency of existing processes but also improve employee engagement and satisfaction.
  • As a member of the Reconciliations Control Change team, you have a unique opportunity to positively impact the future state of vital control function within client. By Innovating With Purpose, you will support, enhance and ultimately augment our existing Reconciliations team's process, mandate and efficiencies.
  • You are a leader with a keen sense of finding the root cause of problems by sifting through data and metrics as well as strong interpersonal skills to lead change within diverse teams and skillsets.  You are driven to succeed in a dynamic and changing capital markets environment to drive competitive advantage within the operations functions at client Securities.
 
Job Accountabilities:
  • You drive continuous improvement of the current state reconciliations
  • You analyze current state of reconciliation controls process, identify issues and opportunities through root cause analysis, participate in delivering solutions to enhance performance and close gaps in processes.
  • You independently drive change and solutions for all identified root causes taking a risk-based approach in applying innovative solutions to unique problems in differing lines of business
  • You participate in reconciliation build and remediation activities including Strategic Initiatives and other projects, and represent Recon for new recs and enhancements
  • You perform Recon Build function based on requirement - adding scripts and rules into the reconciliation platform and conduct testing activities, identifying, and addressing impact of changes
  • You act in an advisory capacity on recon requests to evaluate feasibility of build asks
  • Build positive working relationships by effectively communicating and regularly sharing information
  • Demonstrate awareness of project dependencies and risks, ensuring that they are effectively managed
  • Foster an environment of innovation that leads to working smarter and simpler
 
Job Requirements:
  • Excellent interpersonal skills to effectively interact at all levels coupled with a passion to build strong working relationships
  • Ability to thrive in a fast paced, dynamic, detail oriented, sometimes ambiguous environment
  • An ability to grasp and translate technical concepts, think independently and a high degree of initiative required to present options in resolving issues
  • Ability to apply abstract thinking, problem-solving and technical skills to build reconciliations using available tools.
  • Ability to manage tight deadlines, multiple tasks, and adapt well to changing priorities.
  • Strong background and knowledge of capital markets, their functions, and processes
  • Have a mindset of critical thinking, business analysis and understanding the needs of colleagues
  • Ensure processes utilized are effective and efficient – collaborate with impacted groups to ensure we are offering integrated access control service delivery
  • Develop and maintain necessary functional expertise to deliver expected level of service
