Job Title: Financial Analyst
Location: Mettawa, IL 60045 (Lake County, IL)
Duration: 9 months (with possibility of extension)
Work Model: Hybrid (3 days onsite / 2 days remote)
 
Job Summary
This role sits within the Financial Compliance team and primarily focuses on supporting transparency and compliance activities related to Transfers of Value to Health Care Professionals and Health Care Organizations.
The position is responsible for reviewing and validating financial data, ensuring accuracy and completeness of documentation for government reporting requirements (such as Sunshine Transparency reporting).
This is a non-traditional finance role that is heavily compliance-oriented, involving detailed data review, validation, and cross-functional collaboration rather than traditional FP&A, forecasting, or financial modeling work.
The ideal candidate is detail-oriented, organized, and comfortable working in a structured, process-driven environment.
 
Key Responsibilities

  • Review financial data and supporting documents related to Transfers of Value (Sponsorships, Exhibits, and Memberships) for accuracy and completeness.
  • Review ACR (Adverse Event Compensation Request) submissions in financial systems, including SAP S/4 HANA and SNAPP.
  • Perform data validation, identify discrepancies, and ensure all required documentation is maintained for compliance and government reporting purposes.
  • Assist with ad hoc manual entries of ACR requests.
  • Support transparency reporting activities and provide assistance to team members as needed.
  • Handle additional ad hoc projects and compliance-related tasks as assigned.
  • Collaborate extensively with cross-functional teams including Finance Shared Services (FSS), Office of Ethics & Compliance (OEC), Legal, and Commercial teams.
  • Communicate professionally with internal stakeholders and field personnel regarding compliance matters, follow-ups, and required information.
 
Required Skills & Competencies
  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field (preferred).
  • 1-2 years of experience in a large organization, preferably in finance, compliance, or data review.
  • Strong Attention to Detail – Critical for ensuring data accuracy in government reporting.
  • Ability to manage multiple tasks and priorities simultaneously while maintaining high accuracy.
  • Excellent organizational skills with the ability to provide timely status updates.
  • Moderate to Advanced Excel skills, including: XLOOKUP, VLOOKUP, HLOOKUP, Pivot Tables & Basic Graph/Chart Creation
  • Ability to analyze large datasets, identify issues, and draw insights.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to handle sensitive compliance topics professionally.
  • Cross-functional collaboration skills and comfort working with multiple departments.
  • Natural curiosity and willingness to ask questions to resolve data discrepancies.
  • Ability to learn new financial systems quickly.
 
Preferred Qualifications
  • Knowledge of SAP S/4 HANA (preferred but not required).
  • Experience within the pharmaceutical, healthcare, or another highly regulated industry is preferred and will be given strong consideration.
  • Power BI experience (a plus).
  • Prior experience with Sunshine Transparency / Transfers of Value reporting (nice-to-have, not required)
