Title: Cytotechnologist
Location: Dalton, GA-Onsite
Type: Full-time
Schedule: 8:30 AM – 5:00 PM; No weekends or holidays
Job Summary: The Cytotechnologist is responsible for performing a wide variety of complex microscopic evaluations, tests, and laboratory procedures. This individual must demonstrate the knowledge and technical skills necessary to provide care appropriate to patients across all age groups, including neonate, pediatric, adult, and geriatric populations. The ideal candidate will be detail-oriented, possess strong technical abilities, and maintain a high level of accuracy in evaluating and interpreting laboratory specimens and results.

Responsibilities
- Perform microscopic evaluation and analysis of cytology specimens
- Accurately identify and document abnormal findings
- Maintain compliance with laboratory policies, quality standards, and regulatory requirements
- Ensure proper handling and processing of specimens
- Utilize appropriate instrumentation and laboratory supplies based on patient population served
- Communicate findings effectively with pathologists and laboratory staff
- Maintain accurate and timely documentation of results
- ASCP Certification (or equivalent) required
- Completion of Cytotechnologist training program required
- Completion of training program required; previous experience not required
- Strong technical and microscopic evaluation skills
- Excellent color discrimination ability
- Ability to obtain and interpret pertinent patient information appropriate to age-specific needs
- Ability to select proper instrumentation and supplies appropriate for neonate, pediatric, adult, and geriatric patients
- Strong attention to detail and organizational skills
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively within a laboratory environment
