Inventory Cost Accountant (Entry-Level)
Type: Direct Hire/Perm
Location: Johns Creek, GA (Onsite – 5 Days a Week)

Reports To: Manager of Cost Accounting

Position Overview:
We are seeking a highly skilled and detail-oriented Senior Inventory Cost Accountant to join our dynamic team. This role requires a strong understanding of accounting principles, inventory management, and cost accounting. The ideal candidate will be proficient in utilizing accounting software and databases to analyze and report on inventory data.
 
Key responsibilities include:

• Create and maintain ACCESS databases and generate reports and queries.
• Will participate in month end closing procedures to value inventory.
• Review inventory receiving for accuracy and post journal entries to the general ledger required activity.
• Maintain both standard costs and Bills of Materials for all manufactured items.
• Periodic review of the general ledger and financial statements.
• Maintain established procedures for documenting standard costs and inventory values.
• Reconcile general ledger accounts relating to inventory.
• Assist the Inventory Accounting Manager in preparing audit schedules and as deemed necessary throughout the year.
• Participate in plant Inventory Cycle Count Audits (some travel required).

 
Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s degree in finance, accounting, or a related field.
• 2 yrs in a corporate accounting environment with manufacturing experience.
• Experience with a large ERP system required (JD Edwards a plus).
• Thorough understanding of current accounting principles.
• Advanced knowledge and experience with office productivity tools (MS Office-Excel and ACCESS).
• Ability to work independently and meet deadlines.
• Detail Oriented with strong analytical skills.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

• Microsoft Office – Excel, Outlook, Access and Word
• Microsoft PowerBI
• JD Edwards World
• Showcase – database query and report writing tool similar to Crystal Reports
