Job title: Bookkeeper
Location:
On-site in Wooster, OH
Schedule:
Monday–Friday
Salary:
$50,000 – $60,000 depending on experience

Key Responsibilities (Bookkeeper):
  • Record financial transactions, including accounts payable, accounts receivable, and general ledger entries.

  • Reconcile bank statements, credit card statements, and other financial accounts.

  • Prepare and maintain accurate financial records in accordance with accounting principles.

  • Assist with month-end and year-end closing processes.

  • Ensure timely and accurate payroll processing.

  • Track and manage expenses, invoices, and receipts.

  • Prepare reports on financial performance for management review.

  • Assist with tax filings, including sales tax, payroll tax, and income tax.

  • Monitor and manage petty cash accounts.

  • Assist with audits by providing necessary documentation and supporting materials.

  • Maintain accounting systems and suggest improvements for efficiency and accuracy.

Qualifications (Bookkeeper):
  • High school diploma or equivalent; an associate’s or bachelor’s degree in accounting or finance is preferred.

  • Proven experience as a bookkeeper or in a similar role.

  • Strong knowledge of accounting principles and bookkeeping procedures.

  • Proficiency with accounting software (e.g., QuickBooks, Xero, FreshBooks) and Microsoft Excel.

  • Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.

  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.

  • Ability to manage multiple tasks and meet deadlines.
