Job Title: Bus Syst Consultant III – Workday Compensation
Location: Remote
Duration: 14 months
Days: M-F
Hours: Flexible, but core project meeting hours are 9AM - 4PM EST (regardless of Time Zone)

Reason for seeking this role:
- Corporate HR has a need for an experienced Business Systems Consultant III to support the implementation of Workday Compensation. The business is implementing Workday HCM (Human Capital Mgmt.), including Core HCM, Payroll, Compensation, Time, and Absence modules. Workday Finance was implemented several years ago.
- As part of this project, Core Compensation and Advanced Compensation are being implemented. The BSC should have understanding of compensation setup including Compensation packages, grades, compensation plans (merit, allowance, bonus, stock) eligibility rules, wage theft notifications, and business processes.
- User story development and testing core and advanced compensation processes, such as Merit, wage theft notifications, and bonus programs.
- Supporting pay differential programs (allowance plans) and ensuring proper configuration.
- Participating in end-to-end testing, report generation and validation
- Addressing Compensation interdependencies with other modules (Core HCM, Payroll, Time, and Absence).
- Collaborate to define new processes and contribute to go live documentation.
- Workday Compensation experience, including configuration, testing, and troubleshooting of Core and Advanced Compensation processes (Merit, bonus programs, stock plans, etc.).
- Experience with allowance plans and notifications (e.g., bilingual pay, wage theft) and their configuration in Workday.
- Strong understanding of Compensation interdependencies with other Workday modules (Core HCM, Payroll, Time, and Absence).
- Intermediate computer skills, including MS Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
- Ability to run reports in Workday to assist with testing and data validation efforts.
- Experience defining/writing and executing testing user stories.
- Analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Strong interpersonal skills and ability to work within a highly collaborative environment.
- Excellent listening, verbal, and written communication skills.
- Negotiation skills with the ability to influence others through sharing information and gaining commitment.
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
- Knowledge of Workday Absence.
- Bachelor's Degree in a business-related discipline with at least 3 years of systems experience and a minimum of 2 years of experience in Workday, specifically with Core and Advanced Compensation.
- In lieu of a degree, must have 5 years of system implementation experience and a minimum of 2 years of experience with Workday, specifically with Core and Advanced Compensation.
- Understand requirements for Workday Compensation processes, including Advanced Compensation (Merit, bonus programs) and pay differential programs.
- Participate in defining and reviewing business problems, objectives, and process changes related to Compensation.
- Support the configuration of Compensation processes and identify solutions within Workday, as we move through SIT testing.
- Create data flow diagrams and artifacts to support system design, development, and implementation.
- Define, contribute to, and/or coordinate the development and approval of test plans for Compensation processes.
- Execute and/or coordinate the execution of test plans, approaches, and scripts for SIT (Systems Integration Testing) and UAT (User Acceptance Testing).
- Document, monitor, and coordinate the resolution of test issues per established processes.
- Evaluate risks associated with testing approaches and recommend alternative solutions as needed.
- Collaborate with change management teams to identify and document process changes between current systems (e.g., PeopleSoft) and Workday.
- Support deployment planning and assist with the implementation of Workday Compensation.
- Business Systems Consultants (Compensation lead and BSCs aligned to other Workday areas), the implementation partner, Compensation business partners, IT QA testers, and IT resources aligned to the Workday HCM implementation.
- Both.
