Finance Manager

Location: St. Joseph County, Indiana (On-site)
Salary Range: $125,000 – $150,000 annually

A well-established nonprofit organization in the St. Joseph County area is seeking a Finance Manager to provide financial leadership during a key organizational transition. This Finance Manager will partner closely with executive leadership and the Board to oversee budgeting, forecasting, and financial operations while ensuring stability through an upcoming audit cycle. The Finance Manager will serve as the bridge between day-to-day accounting and strategic financial planning in a mission-driven environment.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead annual budgeting, forecasting, and cash flow planning processes

  • Prepare and present financial reports for leadership and Board review

  • Oversee financial operations including reconciliations, credit cards, and internal controls

  • Ensure proper separation of duties and financial compliance procedures

  • Coordinate audit preparation and support auditor requests

  • Provide financial insight and recommendations to leadership

  • Support capital planning initiatives and organizational financial strategy

  • Partner with accounting staff to maintain accurate and timely reporting

  • Identify opportunities to improve processes and strengthen financial operations

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field required

  • 5+ years of progressive accounting or finance leadership experience

  • Nonprofit experience strongly preferred

  • Strong budgeting, forecasting, and financial analysis skills

  • Experience working with leadership teams and/or Board reporting

  • Ability to balance strategic planning with operational oversight

  • Strong communication and problem-solving skills
