Job Description

The Opportunity

The Accounting Manager plays a critical role in ensuring financial accuracy, operational efficiency, and audit readiness. This position leads accounting functions, safeguards reporting integrity, and drives continuous improvement while collaborating across departments to strengthen financial infrastructure. This role is ideal for someone who enjoys solving complex financial challenges and transforming data into clarity.


Key Responsibilities

Financial Reporting & General Ledger Management

  • Oversee daily accounting operations, including AP, AR, payroll, reconciliations, and journal entries
  • Maintain the integrity of the general ledger and ensure accurate, timely transaction processing
  • Prepare and review monthly financial statements and location-level reports with variance analysis
  • Translate financial results into operational insights and performance drivers

Month-End Close & Analysis

  • Lead the month-end close process to deliver accurate and timely reporting
  • Review reconciliations, accruals, and journal entries for completeness and accuracy
  • Partner with finance leadership on variance explanations and strategic insights
  • Identify root causes behind financial trends and implement corrective actions

Internal Controls & Compliance

  • Maintain and enhance internal control frameworks to safeguard company assets
  • Ensure compliance with GAAP, audit standards, and internal policies
  • Conduct regular control reviews and documentation audits
  • Prepare audit schedules and supporting documentation

Team Leadership & Development

  • Lead and develop accounting professionals across AP, AR, and payroll functions
  • Foster analytical thinking and business understanding within the team
  • Build a culture of accountability, precision, and continuous improvement

Systems Optimization & Continuous Improvement

  • Partner with IT and Operations to enhance ERP systems, reporting tools, and automation
  • Improve workflows to increase efficiency and data transparency
  • Drive KPI reporting aligned with operational and financial performance
  • Lead digitization and process improvement initiatives

Qualifications

  • CPA or MBA preferred
  • 7–10 years of progressive accounting experience, including at least 3 years in leadership
  • Strong knowledge of GAAP, internal controls, reconciliations, and month-end close
  • Advanced Excel and financial reporting/BI tool proficiency
  • Experience in multi-location or utilization-based environments preferred
