We are seeking an experienced and hands-on Controller to lead our clientās financial operations and support continued growth. The ideal candidate will bring a strong background in public accounting along with private sector experience and be comfortable stepping into a leadership role. OVERVIEW OF THE CONTROLLER ROLE
⢠Oversee financial operations, including financial reporting, budgeting, forecasting, and internal controls.
⢠The Controller will lead monthly, quarterly, and year-end close processes to ensure timely and accurate financial statements.
⢠Manage and mentor the accounting team while maintaining strong processes and continuity.
⢠Partner with external auditors, tax advisors, and third-party professionals to ensure compliance.
⢠Strengthen and maintain internal controls to safeguard company assets and improve reporting accuracy.
⢠The Controller will ensure compliance with GAAP, tax regulations, and other statutory requirements.
⢠Prepare and present financial reports, analysis, and insights to senior leadership.
⢠Support financial planning initiatives, including budgeting, cash flow management, and forecasting.
⢠The Controller will oversee cost accounting, job costing, and project-based financial tracking, as applicable.
⢠Assist with strategic initiatives, including process improvements and potential M&A activity.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS FOR THE CONTROLLER
⢠Bachelorās degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field; CPA preferred.
⢠7+ years of progressive accounting experience, including public accounting and private industry.
⢠Prior experience in oil & gas, manufacturing, or construction industries preferred.
⢠Strong knowledge of GAAP and tax regulations.
⢠Proven experience managing financial reporting, budgeting, and forecasting.
⢠Experience with ERP systems and advanced Excel skills.
