Position Summary
We are seeking a reliable and detail-oriented accounting clerk to support our nonprofit’s finance operations. The accounting clerk will handle accounts payable, cash receipts, and provide administrative support. This accounting clerk role is ideal for someone organized, accurate, and comfortable working independently in a mission-driven environment.
Key Responsibilities of Accounting Clerk
Accounts Payable (AP)
Route invoices for approval
Code and enter invoices into the accounting system
Reconcile and process refunds
Maintain AP records
Cash Receipts
Post and reconcile incoming payments
Prepare deposits
Assist with monthly reconciliations
Administrative Support
Provide general office and finance support
Maintain organized financial files
Assist with data entry and special projects
Qualifications of Accounting Clerk
1–3 years of experience as an accounting clerk or similar role
Knowledge of AP and cash handling procedures
Strong attention to detail and accuracy
Proficiency in Excel and accounting software
