Controller – Baltimore, MD

A long‑established, industry‑leading and privately held-company is seeking a Controller to join its Baltimore headquarters. This is a visible leadership role within a collaborative, long‑tenured finance team with a growing company that has been in business for 40+years!

As Controller, you’ll lead a four-person team and partner closely with the CFO, VP of Finance & Administration, and senior leadership. You’ll oversee corporate accounting functions, ensure accurate financial reporting, and strengthen processes within a growing, international organization.

What You’ll Do

• Lead and mentor a four‑person accounting team
• Oversee month-end, quarter-end, and year-end close
• Manage general ledger, financial reporting, and compliance
• Support budget, forecasting, and audit processes
• Collaborate cross-functionally and communicate proactively—picking up the phone when needed, not relying solely on email
• Work hands-on in a fast-paced, collaborative environment

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s in Accounting/Finance/Business (required)
• CPA
• 5-10+years corporate accounting or public + private mix
• Team leadership or mentoring experience
• Sage Intacct a plus
• Strong communicator who’s comfortable picking up the phone
