Staff Accountant
Summary
We are seeking a detail-oriented Staff Accountant to support transactional accounting, accruals, reconciliations, and month-end close activities within a shared services environment. This role plays a key part in ensuring accurate financial reporting, strong internal controls, and compliance with GAAP while partnering cross-functionally across the organization.
Key Responsibilities
- Perform weekly, monthly, quarterly, and annual close activities, including journal entries, accruals, reconciliations, and variance analysis
- Process bank transactions, prepaid amortization schedules, sales and use tax filings, and intercompany transactions
- Support reconciliation of AP, AR, revenue, cash, and balance sheet accounts
- Maintain fixed asset accounting, including CIP tracking, depreciation, transfers, and disposals
- Serve as backup for AP, AR, and cash application functions as needed
- Partner with FP&A, Compliance, and business leaders to support financial reporting needs
- Assist with audit preparation and respond to internal and external audit requests
- Support ERP optimization, process improvements, automation initiatives, and internal control remediation
- Contribute to special projects and cross-functional initiatives as assigned
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Business, or related field
- 5–7 years of general accounting experience
- Manufacturing or shared services experience preferred
- Experience with large ERP systems (JD Edwards, Oracle, or similar preferred)
- Advanced Excel skills required
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
