Key responsibilities of the Senior Staff Accountant

• Lead and execute monthly close to ensure timely, accurate financial reporting
• Serve as primary support and back-up for Accounting Manager; independently troubleshoot and resolve accounting issues
• Drive audit readiness and coordinate year-end external audits for a clean, efficient process
• Analyze and improve current processes; champion solutions in partnership with leadership
• Elevate team effectiveness by sharing expertise, collaborating on cross-functional needs, and developing process understanding

Preferred qualifications of the Senior Staff Accountant

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting
• Minimum 5 years’ progressive accounting experience (preferably within a non-profit industry) with advanced Excel skills (including pivot tables)
• Proven ability to solve problems independently and operate with analytical rigor
