Length of Contract: 6 months
Location (required): Toronto, ON- Hybrid [in office 2-3 days a week, not set days]
Hours of Operation: 8am to 5pm, flexible
About the Role:
- We are seeking a hands-on Equity Options and Listed Futures Product Manager (Contract) to lead the onboarding and integration of new Order Management System (OMS) capabilities that support U.S. and Canadian listed derivatives trading.
- Although the title is “Product Manager,” this is fundamentally a business–technology execution role requiring someone who understands the trading business, knows OMS plumbing end to end, and can drive vendor delivery with rigor and accountability.
- This individual will “test the heck out of” vendor-delivered features, ensuring every workflow—from front office order handling to middle office allocations to clearing processes—is validated thoroughly and works exactly as required for real-world trading operations.
- This is a hybrid role based in Toronto, with a high likelihood of contract extension based on performance and project needs.
OMS Integration & Delivery
- Lead the onboarding and deployment of new OMS functionality to support U.S. and Canadian equity options and listed futures trading.
- Evaluate vendor-delivered functionality deeply, including FIX workflows, routing logic, allocations, average pricing, give-ups, step outs, and clearing processes.
- Build and execute comprehensive front-to-back test plans covering trading, middle office, and post-trade workflows.
- Validate integrations across market data, exchange connectivity, clearing brokers, risk systems, and regulatory reporting.
- Hold vendors accountable for delivery timelines, scope, defect resolution, and functional completeness.
- Translate trading, operational, and regulatory requirements into clear specifications and actionable work items.
- Proactively chase issues across technology, QA, operations, and vendor engineering teams to ensure timely resolution.
- Serve as a subject-matter expert on listed derivatives trading, market structure, and North American exchange behavior.
- Partner with traders, operations, and compliance to ensure delivered features align with practical trading expectations and regulatory obligations.
- Provide post-launch support and identify continuous improvement opportunities.
- 5+ years’ experience in equity options or listed futures—ideally in trading, product management, business analysis, or trading technology.
- Deep understanding of OMS architecture and workflows, including:
- full order lifecycle
- FIX protocol
- middle-office and allocation workflows
- clearing processes and post trade lifecycle
- Demonstrated ability to independently test, validate, and sign off on complex trading workflows.
- Strong hands-on understanding of U.S. and Canadian market structure.
- Experience driving technology projects from requirements through production readiness.
- Prior trading experience (options or futures) — highly valued.
- Experience with major OMS/EMS vendors (FlexTrade, Fidessa, Bloomberg, Tbricks, TRAFiX, etc.).
- Project management or program delivery experience.
- Experience in a bank, broker dealer, prop trading firm, or trading technology vendor.
- Familiarity with regulatory frameworks such as SEC, CFTC, IIROC, and CSA, including CAT and LOPR.
- Competitive contract compensation.
- Hybrid work model based in Toronto.
- Opportunity to take ownership of high-impact trading technology initiatives.
- Exposure to front to back trading workflows in a global, fast-moving environment.
- Strong likelihood of contract renewal for high-performing candidates.
