Description:

- The successful candidate will be responsible for construction, repairs, and troubleshooting of highly automated and advanced manufacturing equipment necessary to produce our signature product.
- This individual will be responsible for learning and understanding specific machine build requirements, troubleshooting new components, and be able to use some power-tools safely and effectively to create the final product.
- This position requires mechanical aptitude, technical ability, the ability to read and interpret mechanical drawings, machine troubleshooting, proficiency with hand/power tools, proficiency with basic inspection equipment, problem-solving skills, and the willingness to work in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.
Responsibilities:
- Follow all policies and procedures including safety and quality standards.
- Read and understand a prints/drawing and be capable of constructing assemblies accordingly.
- Proficient in utilization of power tools including saws, drills, grinders, polishers, etc.
- Perform equipment setup, operation, testing, and repair to meet all standards for safety, quality, and efficiency. These tasks must be completed under minimal supervision.
- Build, diagnose, and repair electromechanical systems on equipment.
- Executes equipment and safety inspections, and generates emergency, corrective, and/or preventative work orders as needed.
- Excellent attention to detail, good organization, and capable of working independently with minimal instruction.
- Perform various equipment preventive maintenance tasks (i.e., cleaning, inspection, and lubrication) while working with small, machined parts.
- Thoroughly document maintenance activity using the maintenance database, adequately communicate issues to appropriate employees in a timely manner(e.g., other maintenance techs, operators, engineers, supervisors, group message boards, etc.)
- Troubleshoot and identify potential solutions for mechanical errors, safety issues, or general operating inefficiencies with assembly production processes.
- Utilize and update basic databases to reflect corrective actions taken and materials consumed and analyze data to be able to root cause issues.
- Direct hands-on involvement in installation, start-up, qualification, and debugging of new automation, including basic wiring and electrical troubleshooting.
- Ensure compliance with safety rules, quality policies, and employee guidelines.
- This is a hands-on role, requiring the candidate to take on project work assigned as an individual contributor, or as a participant on cross functional teams, as well as being able to utilize tools to inspect, repair, assemble, and maintain equipment.
Education and Experience:
Minimum Requirements:
- High School Diploma or equivalent experience
- At least 1-3 years of experience working with hand tools on manufacturing equipment, construction, HVAC, Automotive, etc. executing repair and maintenance activities.
- Basic computer skills and use of MS Office applications.
- Written and verbal English communication skills.
Preferred Skills and Competencies:
- Precise component assembly
- Experience working on and debugging automated equipment.
- Experience working with Human Machine Interfaces (HMIs).
- Mechanical Aptitude – Knowledge of and experience with automated machines and tools, including design, uses, repair, and maintenance.
- Familiar with specific manufacturing processes such as inspection, drilling/tapping, cutting of materials, and electronic controls.
- Familiar with typical sensors on automated equipment including pressure switches, optical sensors, inductive sensors, photoelectric sensors, reed switches, and load cells.
- Technical knowledge of cam driven linkages, discrete component assembly and automation
Physical Requirements:
- Required to stand for at least 75% of working time per shift, with walking at least 50% of working time per shift.
- Required to reach above shoulder frequently and below waist occasionally.
- Required to push and pull.
- Ability to lift 50lbs occasionally, 5-30lbs frequently.
- Ability to work in tight spaces.
- Able to work any shift.
