Job Title: Warehouse Specialist I
Duration: 6 months assignment
Location: Highland Heights, OH 44143
Schedule: 9:30-6 PM, Mon-Friday
OT: May be 1-2 hrs. before start time or after work; Saturdays could be from 8AM-12PM)
Position Summary:
This is an entry-level position working in a warehouse environment, responsible for ensuring that physical assets are received, refurbished, accounted for, and shipped in a secure and organized manner. Typically receives detailed instructions and works under direct supervision until most routine tasks are learned and an understanding of department processes is achieved.
The team's immediate priority is to undertake a significant project known as Employee Tech Refresh (ETR), which involves replacing existing laptops with new Windows 11 devices. While they will continue to support their regular duties, they will also be dedicating substantial effort to this project.
NOTE: Before ERT Project the warehouse had approximately 150 packages a day and now they are up to 300-500 which is why the team is hiring three contractors to assist for 6 months.

Education and /or Experience:
- High School diploma or GED equivalent.
Required Skills:
- The ability to work with outsourced resources and/or services-
- Interpersonal and communication skills with the ability to effectively interact with others.
- Time management, organizational and customer service skills.
- The ability to operate a PC with a working knowledge of associated software (e.g., MS Office specifically beginner level of Excel, Outlook and Teams.
Nice to Have:
- Experience with Asset Win Inventory Systems (if not, training will be provided)
- UPS or FedEx shipping experience
Job Responsibilities for Employee Tech Refresh (ETR) Project:
- Prepping Windows 11 laptops: Pre-pack laptops into boxes and totes.
- Packing laptops: Place laptops into "speed pack boxes" and freight boxes on pallets.
- Labeling: Apply battery stickers to each laptop box.
- Equipment handling: Pull equipment for laptop requests and PC accessories.
- Receiving returned equipment: Unpack and organize equipment received from UPS/FedEx.
- Operating depots: Ship Windows 11 machines to assigned depots. If an employee lives within 60 miles, they can pick up their new machine and return the old one. At the end of the week there is a freight that picks up all of the old equipment that gets returned to the warehouse.
- Freight handling: Unload freight boxes of laptops, place them on carts, and scan them into the configuration center.
- Machine transfer: Transfer data from old machines to new ones and boot up the new devices.
- Recycled equipment management: Sort and organize recycled equipment from multiple vendors.
- Organization: Maintain orderly storage and workspace.
- Inventory assistance: Support the ETR project by pre-packing machines to prepare for delivery to a single site and arrange them on shelves.
Normal Day activities:
- Building boxes for laptops.
- Pulling inventory for PC accessories- reading a ticket, gather the parts and pull the quantity needed.
- Pack up the request, add a shipping label and put box on a pallet to be sent out.
Returns:
- Truck comes in and rings a bell, unload truck and set materials on a table and put the items in respective carts and totes until they are full.
- Receive returned equipment in the config center.
- Open boxes and decide if it can be reused or recycled, put in appropriate bins.
Recycled equipment:
- Work with three different vendors for laptops, accessories, and monitors.
- Receive equipment from office closings- the freights trucks will come in with freight boxes and the worker will need to dump out the freight boxes and organize equipment, etc.
Receiving (new and used from returns):
- Count equipment, get a number of parts and pieces and add them to the inventory room.
- Accessories- go into a bay area on racks- count them and put them into desired location.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
- Assists with the receiving and dispatching of orders in accordance with schedules and quantities.
- Assists with daily operations, which could include the accurate fulfillment of orders, various shipping activities, staging logistics, organizing the warehouse, and ensuring the security of the assets.
- Follows standard departmental processes for shipping and receiving items, which includes the processing for outgoing "small jobs." May assist with the completion of punch list activities.
- Assists in the refurbishment of used office furniture.
- Typical work hours, but overtime hours may be required to complete work assignments when necessary.
- Occasional travel.
Knowledge and Skills / Abilities:
- Must be able and certified to operate warehouse equipment (e.g., pallet jacks, forklifts).
- The ability to work with outsourced resources and/or services.
- Interpersonal and communication skills with the ability to effectively interact with others.
- Time management, organizational and customer service skills.
- The ability to operate a PC with a working knowledge of associated software (e.g., Microsoft Office, Lotus Notes, Asset Win Inventory Systems).
Physical requirements / Working conditions:
- Must be able to lift items (most often on a daily basis is 15 lbs., but it could be more, but not more than 80lbs with assistance of another worker or machine).
- May require prolonged, repetitive use of the upper extremities.
- Ability to work outdoors including ability to tolerate extreme weather conditions.
- Exposure to equipment, noise, chemicals and other conditions typically found in a commercial facility is possible.
- Required to frequently walk, sit, bend, and kneel.
- Required to use hands and fingers to operate objects, tools, and controls and reach with hands and arms.
- Required to climb, balance, stoop, crouch, and crawl.
- Vision abilities include close vision, color vision and the ability to adjust focus.
What to wear:
- No inappropriate images words etc. on T-shirts or other.
- No holes in the clothes.
- No open-toed shoes.
- Tennis shoes are acceptable, and work boots are, too (shoes do NOT have to be steel toe).
- Jeans, sweats, basketball shorts, cargo shorts and a normal tee shirt or hoody are all acceptable.
- The worker should be comfortable in their clothing and be able to move around so nothing too tight or restricting.
