The Wash and Sterilization Technician will be responsible for washing, sterilizing, unloading, and assembling components and equipment in an aseptic environment. This role supports the Filling and Formulation teams by ensuring timely and consistent delivery of materials in compliance with business and regulatory requirements.

Top Three Must-Have Qualifications
- Grade A cleanroom experience
- Ability to stand for up to a 12-hour shift
- Knowledge of Good Documentation Practices (GDP) and Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP)
Position Summary
The Wash and Sterilization Technician will be responsible for washing, sterilizing, unloading, and assembling components and equipment in an aseptic environment. This role supports the Filling and Formulation teams by ensuring timely and consistent delivery of materials in compliance with business and regulatory requirements.
Key Responsibilities
- Perform aseptic activities, including processing components, parts, and assemblies, troubleshooting equipment, and assisting with equipment setup and teardown
- Clean, prepare, wrap, assemble, and sterilize production components and parts
- Inspect and adjust mechanical assemblies critical to the accurate and aseptic filling of insulin
- Process components necessary for insulin formulation within an aseptic environment
- Operate, monitor, and control equipment, systems, and processes
- Meet production goals and targets
- Cross-train and become proficient in the setup and operation of all filling operations
- Maintain aseptic areas, perform sanitizations, and conduct environmental monitoring
- Actively participate in and support event response activities
- Review, revise, and author Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) and other documents as required
- Assist with equipment maintenance, including restoration of lost function, predictive, and preventative maintenance
- Record and review production data in Batch Production Records (BPR) and associated forms
- Adhere to all safety and environmental requirements in the performance of duties
- Perform other duties as assigned
Physical Requirements
- Ability to move equipment and/or supplies weighing up to 33 pounds within the facility using various body positions
- Routinely operate and inspect manufacturing equipment using hands
- Ability to strap and unstrap pallets using hands
- Ability to stand for up to a 12-hour shift
- May require corrected vision to 20/20 or 20/25 based on role
- May require color vision based on role
- Occasionally ascend/descend a ladder and work at elevated heights
- Ability to work around odorous and/or hazardous materials
- May be required to wear latex gloves
- May perform critical job functions in extremely cold work environments depending on site
- Ability to position oneself within confined spaces for inspection, if required
- Ability to work in loud noise environments with hearing protection
- May be required to secure a motorized vehicle license and operate a motorized vehicle based on the role
Experience and Skills
- Minimum of six (6) months of manufacturing experience required (this requirement may be waived with military experience, a BioWorks/BioBlend certification, or equivalent from an accredited college, or for a current contractor with 3 months of demonstrated performance in the relevant area)
- Experience working in an FDA-regulated environment preferred
- Aseptic processing experience preferred
- Ability to read, write, and understand complex product documentation and standard operating procedures with strong attention to detail
- Computer literacy preferred
