Position Summary:
The primary function of the Support Specialist, Corporate Security is to assist the Senior Manager, Corporate Security in the development, enhancement and implementation of an effective site security strategy that is both aligned with our Corporate Security Strategy as well as the unique needs of the individual sites that Senior Manager supports / oversees.

Facilitation and oversight of front desk security/reception operations at the primary site, including visitor control, access badge management, monitoring of security systems, and emergency response/communication.

Maintain routine coordination / communication / partnership with other disciplines (e.g. Facilities, EHS, HR, etc.) as needed to ensure the protection of employees and property.

Work with the Senior Manager of Security to ensure security vendor coordination / communication routine site work and special projects.

Maintain situational awareness to provide data / information / intelligence to the Senior Manager of Security on any issues impacting front desk operations or other security related matters.

Support security for special events, including internal meetings and other events as directed.

Audit physical security processes and equipment as directed to ensure compliance and effectiveness.

Provide input on policy and procedure execution to help identify any gaps that may be creating risk.

Ensure continuity of operations by monitoring, maintaining and ordering supplies as needed for successful operation of front desk security / reception.
Qualification & Experience:

Strong Analytical skills.

Effective communication skills, both verbal and written.

Ability to work independently and exercise sound judgment.

Unimpeachable trustworthiness, reliability, confidentiality, and respect.

Capable of building collaborative partnerships across the site(s) and externally.

Associate’s degree in a business or security related discipline is preferred.

Minimum of 3 years’ experience in a corporate security environment. Experience in a manufacturing environment is preferred. Experience in the healthcare, medical device or pharmaceutical industry is preferred.

Demonstrated knowledge of - and experience with – technical security systems (access control, CCTV and intrusion alarm) and contract security operations.

Robust capability in MS Word, Excel, PowerPoint and other Office tools is essential.

Experience in supporting security programs in a global setting is preferred.
Additional Details:

This position is based in San Diego, CA. It is not eligible for full-time remote work.

This role may also be requested to support security operations / needs of East Coast Operations in the absence of security team members.
