Job Title: Sr Regulatory Data Automation Specialist
Location: Chicago, IL Hybrid – onsite 3 days per week
Duration: 6months
Position Overview and Responsibilities:
The Technical Data Analyst with regulatory experience is a pivotal role within financial organizations, especially those subject to strict oversight by national and international regulatory bodies. This position combines advanced technical expertise in data analysis, reporting, and systems integration with a deep understanding of regulatory language, standards, and requirements, particularly as they pertain to the financial services industry. The successful candidate will serve as a bridge between technical teams, compliance, and regulatory authorities, ensuring that all data management and reporting processes align with the latest regulatory frameworks.
Required Qualifications:
· Bachelor’s degree (or higher) in Data Science, Computer Science, Information Systems, Finance, Economics, or a related field.
· Minimum of 3 years’ experience as a Data Analyst, preferably within the financial services sector, with demonstrable exposure to regulatory environments.
· Strong understanding of key financial regulations and their implications for data management and reporting.
· Proficiency in data analysis tools and programming languages, such as SQL, Python, R, SAS, Tableau, or Power BI.
· Experience working with large and complex data sets, especially those relevant to banking, securities, insurance, or asset management firms.
· Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with proven ability to interpret and explain regulatory language to both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
· Strong attention to detail, organizational skills, and commitment to accuracy and timeliness.
· Ability to work independently and collaboratively in fast-paced, high-stakes environments.
· Understanding of data privacy and security standards, including requirements for secure data transmission and storage.
Preferred Qualifications:
· Prior direct experience interacting with regulators, preparing regulatory submissions, and guiding regulatory audits or examinations.
· Hands-on experience with enterprise data management platforms and data automation.
· Familiarity with global regulatory frameworks and cross-border data reporting obligations.

Key Responsibilities:
· Regulatory Data Analysis: Perform detailed analysis of financial data to meet regulatory reporting requirements. Ensure the completeness, accuracy, and consistency of data that supports regulatory filings and disclosures.
· Data Automation
· Interpreting Regulatory Language: Translate complex regulatory texts and guidelines into clear, actionable technical specifications for data collection, transformation, and reporting. Stay up to date with evolving regulatory requirements and adapt analytical processes accordingly.
· Data Quality and Integrity: Design and implement data validation, cleansing, and enrichment protocols to ensure regulatory submissions are robust, reliable, and meet the standards set by regulators such as the SEC, FINRA, FCA, ESMA, or other relevant bodies.
· Reporting and Documentation: Prepare regulatory reports and submissions, including statistical analyses, dashboards, and data visualizations. Maintain thorough documentation of methodologies, data sources, and processing steps to support audits and regulatory reviews.
· Stakeholder Collaboration
· Process Improvement: Identify opportunities for automating regulatory data workflows, enhancing reporting efficiency, and reducing operational risk. Contribute to the development and deployment of new data management solutions or enhancements to existing systems.
