Travel Histotechnician
Location: 1447 York Ct. Burlington, NC 27215
Schedule.2nd shift. M-F 4 pm – 12:30 AM 
Duration: 3+ months 

Summary:The histotechnician will perform all routine and special paraffin histotechnology duties in our state of the art, CAP-certified pathology laboratory. Under the guidance of a Senior or Lead Histotechnologist, you will provide high quality diagnostic material within established turn-around-times.

Position Responsibilities:

• Embeds, cuts, stains and performs other tasks required to process tissue in the Immunohistochemistry laboratory.
• Embedding, Cutting of routine cases, cutting of recut, special stain and IHC requests. Possible IHC or special staining if the candidate has experience.
• Performs accurate gross description on tissue samples.
• Perform quality control procedures established for each method and maintains accurate records.
• Operates all instruments/ equipment according to accepted written procedures and recognizes and identifies instrument/ equipment problems.
• Meets acceptable turnaround time and productivity standards for the section.Recognizes testing errors/discrepancies or problems and notifies appropriate personnel; assists in problem resolution.
• Record, transcribe, and maintain records of patient test results according to protocol.Assist other personnel with identifying and analyzing inconsistent and abnormal results.
• Review accuracy and completeness of results prior to releasing in the Laboratory Information System.
• Complete routine and STAT testing within acceptable turn-around time guidelines.
