Job Description

Title: Process Consultant IV
Location: 100% remote
Duration: 12 months
Shift: 8AM-5 PM EST, M-F

Position Summary:
  • This lead level position is responsible for initiating, designing, leading, executing and ensuring seamless adoption of improvements to new and or existing business processes and customer experiences. In this case, It's WORKDAY HCM Implementation (human capital management); the client implemented Peoplesoft 25 years ago and is now moving toward Workday which is a huge project.
  • Reviews current business operations, procedures, and/or processes; researches improvements and proactively makes recommendations to re-engineer process with a focus on increasing efficiencies (e.g. streamlining and automating work processes), improving the customer experience and containing costs and achieving business area goals.
  • As a lead-level Process Consultant in the Corporate HR Solutions group (CHRS), you’ll have the unique opportunity to collaborate with business partners across Corporate HR to support the implementation of a new core HR system.

Top must-have skills / Candidate Requirements:
  • Workday and Workday Payroll Process.
  • Experience with Workday or similar SaaS vendor implementation.
  • Proficient in end-to-end process diagramming using Blueworks Live.
  • VISIO- MS- level of knowledge, helpful.
  • Familiarity with business process management discipline, methodologies, and tools.
  • Proficient in end-to-end process diagramming using Blueworks Live.
  • Experience gathering and interpreting information from stakeholders across functional areas, identifying problems and opportunities, evaluating alternatives and risks, and choosing effective opt.
 
Soft Skills:
  • Resource will work w/various stakeholders- as they're going through enterprise design
  • Work with Clear verbal and written communication and can work with executive teams
  • Presentation skills and being able to share complex information w/ employees who are not working through the implementation and need to be updated as it will affect their day-to-day work.
 
Day-to-day responsibilities:
  • The contractors are going to be imbedded in teams.
  • Responsible for interviews, creating business process maps, contributing to the teams and providing feedback.
  • Process documentation.
  • Identifying requirements for new or existing business processes and technologies
  • Leveraging concepts such as prototyping, demonstrations, focus groups, pilots, workflows, surveys, risk assessments and customer scenarios to ensure the successful creation and adoption of process and technology improvements.
  • Agile Methodology will be used for implementation, so these Process Consultants will be diagramming end-to-end design and owning the process designs.
  • Collaboration - across the organization to achieve business goals.
 
What will separate an average candidate vs a great candidate on a resume?
  • Background: HCM implementation before- that experience will be great! Any Saas implementation would be a differentiator.
  • # of years' experience- deep process background as opposed to entry level.
  • Large Scale program would be a bonus.
 
Degrees or certifications required/Years of overall experience required:
  • Bachelor's degree in business or a related field of study (e.g., Finance, Marketing, Management, Sales, HR) and a minimum of 5 years of experience in a process design/redesign role.
  • In lieu of a degree, a minimum of 8 years of experience in a process design/redesign or technical role.
 
Will the contractor be working independently, or will they be collaborating with team members and/or a manager to complete tasks?
  • Both
 
How will performance be measured:
  • How well the contractor documents the processes, how well the process design is and the project team's feedback.

  • The level of work that they’re doing in the industry, working on an implementation is a resume builder. It's very attractive as Workday is the leading Saas platform (if you're not familiar with the term SaaS- is the acronym for Software as a Service. SaaS allows each user to access programs via the internet instead of having to install software on each user's computer/laptop). The experience they'll get will be great.

Interview:
  • 1 TEAMS interview - camera on (possibly 2 if they need a second round.

Essential Duties Responsibilities:
  • Independently manages multiple large and/or strategic/complex projects or processes simultaneously.
  • Identifies and recommends process or technology improvements by investigating business processes, identifying customer needs, researching competitors and industry trends, and understanding business area goals.
  • Consults with stakeholders (e.g. sponsors, customers, business professionals, analysts and other technical resources) to identify requirements for new or existing business processes and technologies and recommend effective solutions.
  • Develops project plans and/or contributes to project documentation (e.g. timelines, initiation document, analysis needs, work breakdown structure, estimates, implementation and communication plans, risk assessment etc.).
  • Ensures the successful adoption of changes by assisting with or leading the design and development of communication, training, and sponsorship plans. Assists business partners with identifying downstream implications of a change by anticipating obstacles and/or unintended consequences.
  • Leverages concepts such as prototyping, demonstrations, focus groups, pilots, workflows, surveys, risk assessments and customer scenarios to ensure the successful creation and adoption of process and technology improvements.
  • Communicates regularly with the project team, sponsors and stakeholders to deliver project updates and gather input to address issues and keep the project on track. May need to leverage influential communication skills to encourage senior leaders and customers to consider alternative approaches.
  • Collaborates across the organization to achieve business goals. This may include communications, training, creative services, IT, and other groups.
  • Evaluates the success of the solution once elevated. This may include reporting, participating and/or leading the post-implementation review, and creating and executing a post-implementation plan.
  • May own or support existing processes and tools, including maintenance, updates, training, quality assurance, and serving as an expert resource to resolve operational issues.
  • Mentors and coaches lower-level process consultants to assist in their development of systems theory and practice, as well as business operations.
 
Knowledge, Skills/Abilities:
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills with the ability to interact effectively with others at all levels within the organization, including senior management and executives
  • Advanced knowledge of internal business processes.
  • Experience developing process improvements and/or managing projects.
  • Ability to facilitate meetings
  • Demonstrated ability to conduct formal presentations.
  • Strong planning, prioritizing and organizational skills
  • Detail-oriented
  • Strong negotiation skills with the ability to work with others to reach mutually agreed upon solutions
  • Ability to work with and protect highly confidential information.
  • Proficient computer skills, such as Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.

Physical Requirements/Working Conditions:
  • Typical office environment requiring the use of typical office equipment (e.g., computers, phones, etc.). Computer keyboarding, computer monitor and mouse use including reaching forward, grasping, finger and wrist manipulation, and neck bending and turning; near vision is necessary for computer monitor use. If working in an Emerging Workspace, or similar working arrangement, lifting of laptop equipment, files and/or personal belongings weighing 10 lbs. or less is required.
  • May require long periods of sitting.
  • May require prolonged repetitive use of the upper extremities.
