Title: Hardware (EE) Technician III
Duration: 12 months
Location: Sunnyvale, CA


Summary
The electrical engineering team within the client's VR EE team is seeking a Hardware technician as a contractor. As an HW Technician, you will support the electrical engineering team who develops the latest generation of Virtual Reality devices and Hardware developments at client. The HW Tech will be an electro-mechanically minded technician who is passionate at building products and prototypes out of electrical subsystems such as Display, Cameras, Audio, RF, Sensors, etc. The successful candidate will be creative, self-motivated, detail oriented and a team player.

Job Responsibilities:

  • Work with customers and colleagues to identify and fix issues with hardware.
  • Provide problem solving steps to resolve issue easily and effectively.
  • Repair computer equipment and other devices when damaged, run tests to ensure equipment is working after repair.
  • Train new users of computer hardware on best use practices.
  • Able to understand electrical and mechanical drawings, such as Schematic and Layout
  • Able to help design and assemble custom test fixtures
  • Assist engineering team in performing electro-mechanical assembly and tear down
  • Skilled builder and familiar with typical shop/lab tools
  • Creative problem solver able to figure out ways to get things done quickly, efficiently, and
  • professionally
  • Perform high-density PCB and FPC rework, repair and occasional troubleshooting using
advanced bench tools. Component size down to 0201


Skills:

  • Familiar with 3D modelling programs
  • Familiar with PCB design programs
  • Fine Pitch Soldering
  • Building custom fixtures


Education/Experience:

  • • 2 years Associates Degree in Engineering or at least 3 years of direct electrical
  • engineering experience
  • Experience with ADB
  • Knowledge of IEC61000-4-2
