Job Description: The Resource Planning Analyst supports the short-to-mid-term ground operations staffing forecast across multiple locations and workgroups by tracking key staffing inputs. Working under the guidance of senior staff, this role helps identify staffing trends and potential constraints, contributing solutions that support operational needs. As an individual contributor, this role exercises considerable judgment to make decisions on short-term staffing strategies to mitigate operational risk and meet financial goals.
Key Duties:
Supports the maintenance of short- to mid-term ground operations staffing models by tracking workgroup and location-level data and assisting in identifying areas where hiring and training may need to be adjusted
Builds meaningful relationships within and outside of the team, creating a high-trust environment that expedites decision-making
Applies deep resource planning knowledge to conduct ad-hoc what-if analyses and provide time-sensitive and accurate staffing, productivity, and hiring estimates to senior leaders and executives
Creates short- and mid-term staffing models and aligns those models with long-term forecasts, helping to gather and review data on trends that could influence future planning
Works cross-functionally with other members of the Resource Planning team, including the Industrial Engineering group, to ensure optimal resource modeling
Demonstrates ownership of ambiguous problem sets in a fast-paced, evolving environment with limited supervision from senior staff or management
Provides data and insights to support production of the budget, forecast, and variance analysis, while expanding continuous improvement of the resource plan
Prepares and reviews regular and ad-hoc reports and dashboards to help validate staffing models, improve planning efficiency, produce hiring plans, and monitor productivity goals
2 years of experience in resource planning or scheduling, data analysis, or related area
Bachelor’s degree or an additional two years of relevant training/experience in lieu of this degree
Proven experience of applying data-driven results and best practices to influence operational action
Critical thinking, analytical and problem-solving skills
Detail driven with the ability to produce accurate results
Highly self-motivated, able to work independently or in a team, to meet business objectives.
Strong attention to detail, ability to multi-task and follow through with a variety of division initiatives
Data-driven mindset and a proven history of continuous self-development
Excellent verbal and written communication skills with the ability to effectively communicate technical solutions to leaders
Intermediate knowledge of Excel functions (lookups, pivot tables, if statements, etc.)
Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications (e.g., Word, PowerPoint, and Outlook)
High school diploma or equivalent is required
Minimum age of 18
Must be authorized to work in the U.S.
Preferred
One year of operational resource planning or scheduling experience, with strong preference for experience with the INFORM GroundStar product suite
Working knowledge of Alaska and/or Hawaiian IAM or AMFA contractual provisions for scheduling, bidding, training, and pay
Experience with data mining and/or visualization tools (e.g., Tableau, Power BI, SQL)
