Ideal: help with day to day lab work, sample prep, managing sample, Offline HPLC, Liquid handlers. Basic sample prep. No Animal work, will handle samples from animal, tissue or cell lines. Experience in a working lab environment, internships with a bachelors would be acceptable. Desired Exp: Proteins quantitative assay, Bradford assays, Liquid handler.

Job Summary
The Discovery Proteomics group is seeking a talented and motivated contract worker with experience in chemistry or biochemistry to join our research team. Job duties include routine sample preparation and implementation of analytical and biophysical techniques to support discovery-stage therapeutic candidates.

The successful candidate will join the Discovery Proteomics group at our South San Francisco campus. This group is tasked with developing and implementing proteomic techniques in support of early discovery pipeline.

Responsibilities:
This role will enable preclinical pipeline through delivery of innovative technologies and technical expertise. As a contract worker in a proteomics laboratory, you will work with state-of-the-art equipment and techniques to analyze protein samples from preclinical models. You will perform sample preparation, protein digestion, peptide fractionation, and chromatographic separations using standard operating procedures and protocols. You will also contribute to data analysis, quality control, and report writing. You will collaborate with other scientists and technicians in the laboratory and communicate your results effectively and adhere to safety and ethical standards and maintain accurate and complete records of your work.

Preferred Qualifications:
Although not required, some training in analytical protocols pertaining to sample preparation, protein chemistry, liquid chromatography or other relevant chemical and/or biochemical methodologies is preferred. A background in biology or chemistry with some laboratory experience in running established assays. Strong verbal and written skills, and ability to work independently and effectively within timelines.
Basic Qualifications   
Bachelor degree OR Associate degree and 4 years of experienceOR High school diploma / GED and 6 years of experience

Top 3 Must Have Skill Sets:     
Some training in analytical protocols pertaining to sample preparation,
protein chemistry, liquid chromatography or other relevant chemical and/or biochemical methodologies is preferred.

  • Extensive mass spectrometry experience, wont be running the equipment this is a sample prep role.
