Registered Nurse (RN) - Short Term Agreement - Ortho/Spine - Days - $50 at Norman Regional Health System summary:

The Registered Nurse (RN) in the Ortho/Spine unit is responsible for assessing and coordinating care for orthopedic patients, including those undergoing hip and knee replacements. This position requires critical thinking and collaboration with healthcare providers to ensure effective patient outcomes and discharge planning. The role demands a current RN license, with a preference for candidates holding a BSN or higher.

Overview:

Compensation

  • $50 flat rate
  • 13 week assignment
  • 3 12hr shift/week
  • Hours not guaranteed
  • No benefits

Ortho/Spine is a 32 bed unit specializing in orthopedic patients. We have disease specific certification from the Joint Commission in Hip Replacement, Knee Replacement and Hip Fx patients which deems us a center of excellence. We also care for Total Shoulder and Ankle patients as well as other fractures. We also care for low level cardiac patients and some med-surg patients.

Responsibilities:

Job Summary

 

RN essential functions include, but are not limited to:

  • Assessment/reassessment - Systematically assesses / reassesses the health care needs of individuals; appropriate for specific age groups and patient conditions.
  • Involves patient, family and other healthcare providers as appropriate
  • Nursing Diagnosis and Outcomes - Analyzes assessment to determine nursing diagnosis and expected outcomes, involving patient, family and other healthcare providers as appropriate.
  • Implementation and Coordination of Care - Provides nursing care through interventions to achieve goals and needs using professional judgement guided by current evidence-based practice, regulations and policy
  • Evaluation - Evaluates patient outcomes by utilizing the critical thinking process and evidence based knowledge to recognize problems, evaluate facts and reach sound conclusions.
  • Evaluates discharge needs related to plan of care utilizing resources as needed.

Qualifications:

Education

  • Diploma or Associate’s degree (ADN) required, Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN), or Master's of Science in Nursing (MSN) preferred.

Experience

  • Previous experience in healthcare field preferred.

Licensure/Certification

  • Current Oklahoma Registered Nurse license.  Basic Life Support (BLS) training or retraining is required during orientation prior to providing patient care.  
  • Current Basic Life Support (BLS) is required to be maintained thru re-training for duration of employment

Other Knowledge/Skills/Abilities

  • New grads are required to complete Norman Regional's Nurse Residency Program.
