Job Description

Job Title: React/Node JS Developer
Duration: 6 months
Location: 100% Remote
 
Job Summary:
  • This developer will be responsible for writing and helping to maintain applications written in Javascript (Node/React), Java (Springboot), and Python.
  • They will also be responsible for helping teams ensure their applications and dependencies are up-to-date as well as helping decrease vulnerabilities found in SAST/DAST scans.
  • They will participate in design meetings and consult with clients to refine, test and debug programs to meet business needs and interact and sometimes direct third party partners in the achievement of business and technology initiatives.
  • Developers are responsible for documenting detailed system specifications and will participate in evaluating, conducting performance testing, and all planned and unplanned maintenance for both internally developed applications and purchased products.
  • Developers are responsible for including IT Controls to protect the confidentiality, integrity, as well as availability of the application and data processed or output by the application.
 
General Requirements:
  • Proficiency using MERN stack
  • Proficiency with keeping applications up-to-date and resolving dependency conflicts
  • Experience with Java / Springboot web applications
  • Proficiency programming in more than one object-oriented programming language; React.Js, Node.JS, JavaScript, and HTML
  • Experience with scripting languages: Python, PowerShell, BASH, etc.
  • Solid knowledge of DOM manipulation and client-side validation
  • Knowledge of databases, which may include SQL and noSQL
  • Experience with web/UI development tools and techniques, which may include: Node, React, Springboot, CI/CD Pipelines, Jenkins
  • Proficiency with HTML, CSS, SASS, JavaScript/jQuery, local storage, and cross-browser compatibility are required
  • Proficiency using standard desktop applications such as MS Suite and flowcharting tools such as Visio
  • High critical thinking skills to evaluate alternatives and present solutions that are consistent with business objectives and strategy
  • Experience with responsive grid systems
  • Solid knowledge of React principles and build out
  • Experience with unit testing, release procedures, coding design and documentation protocol as well as change management procedures
  • Demonstrated organizational, analytical and interpersonal skills
  • Flexible team player
  • Ability to manage tasks independently and take ownership of responsibilities
  • Ability to learn from mistakes and apply constructive feedback to improve performance
  • Must demonstrate initiative and effective independent decision-making skills
  • Ability to communicate technical information clearly and articulately
  • Ability to adapt to a rapidly changing environment
  • In-depth understanding of the systems development life cycle
 
Preferred Qualifications:
  • The preferred qualifications listed below reflect desired knowledge, skill, and/or experience.
 
Additional Preferred Qualifications:
  • Experience with web application security
  • Experience with Java and Gradle
  • Understanding of common web application vulnerabilities and vulnerability frameworks
  • Familiarity with Risk Rating (CVSS, Qualitative analysis, Quantitative Analysis)
  • Various Domain experience; Health Care, Financial, etc
  • Experience using Agile, Waterfall, or hybrid methodology
 
Required Work Experience:
  • 3+ years related work experience, Professional experience with technical design and coding in the IT industry
 
Required Education:
  • HS Diploma or GED
 
Candidates must have the following:
  • Strong skills with React, and Node (especially dependency management or large upgrades)
  • Experience with web application security
  • Experience with Java and Gradle
