Job Description

Title: Incoming Inspector, Quality Control
Duration: 9-month contract
Shift: Monday–Friday | 8:00 AM – 4:30 PM
Location: 100% onsite – Kankakee

Job Description:
Responsible for all phases of incoming sampling and inspection of all raw materials, components, primary and secondary labeling, and other manufacturing operating supplies per appropriate specifications and/or procedures to ensure adherence to cGMPs and other regulatory requirements. After inspection and review of all appropriate documentation, disposition materials per appropriate Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) and material specifications.

Main Responsibilities and Accountabilities:
  • Ensures material pending disposition is held in the appropriate location.
  • Samples material according to the applicable SOP(s) and material specification.
  • Samples and inspects material using the appropriate tools and personal protective equipment (PPE).
  • Assures material meets the applicable requirements utilizing the appropriate inspection methods described in the SOP and/or material specification.
  • Follows strict cGMPs to ensure material maintains the safety, identity, strength, quality, and purity that it purports or is represented to possess.
  • Responsible for maintaining accurate records for all materials inspected.
  • Determines the disposition of the material.
  • Assists in the training of Incoming Inspectors.
  • Assists Quality Release Management when requested.
  • Completes the appropriate documentation when material is dispositioned and routes it to the appropriate departments.
  • Properly identifies materials with the appropriate disposition and required information.
  • Assists QC Management with various tasks and responsibilities as needed.
Requirements:
  • Bachelor’s degree preferred, preferably in a scientific discipline; High School Diploma required.
  • 1–2 years of related experience preferred.
  • Good written, verbal, and mathematical skills.
  • Ability to work well with others.
  • Ability to work with minimal supervision is imperative.
