Job Title: Protein Biochemistry Research Assistant II Duration: 6 months Location: Cambridge, MA

M-F 9-5 (start and end time a little flexible).
6 month contract from whenever the candidate starts.
Not likely to extend. Fully onsite.
Would consider a candidate with a bachelors degree and 3-5 years experience or a Masters with 1-3 years.
Years of experience should be in the industry and not just from school.
Essential qualifications: • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Protein Biochemistry/Biochemistry preferred, or related field. • With a Bachelor's Degree - At least 3-5 years of hands-on laboratory experience (industry). • With a Master's Degree - At least 1–3 years of hands-on laboratory experience (industry). • Experience with recombinant protein production, purification, and characterization. • Protein characterization techniques (e.g. SDS-PAGE, Western Blots, endotoxin testing, HPLC, BLI (Octet) or SPR (Biacore)) • Experience in FPLC protein purification using AKTA systems and Unicorn software (e.g. affinity chromatography, SEC, and IEX) • Strong organizational and documentation skills. • Ability to work independently and as part of a team • Excellent communication and problem-solving skills. • A creative, problem-solving, collaborative, and goal-oriented mindset Preferred qualifications: • Experience in plate based functional assays (ELISA/MSD, functional assays, enzyme kinetics, chromogenic/fluorescent readouts, etc.) • Experience with protein bioconjugation and conjugate purification • Experience with oligonucleotides and related methods a plus • Experience using Benchling (eLN)
Key Responsibilities: • Support expression, conjugation, purification and characterization of proteins • Develop and conduct biophysical and functional assays to validate various protein designs • Perform plate-based assays to analyze samples downstream from in vivo studies • Analyze, integrate and interpret data from multiple sources • Diligently document work in digital systems and regularly communicate results in team and group settings • Prepare reagents, solutions, and samples for analysis, including samples collected from in vivo studies (e.g. tissue homogenization and protein extraction). • Assist in method development, validation, and troubleshooting. • Ensure compliance with safety regulations and good research practices • Work collaboratively in a team environment and manage priorities to achieve our goals
