Job Description

Job title: Proofreader (English language) – Part-time
Location: Remote, (must be located in any one of the following states only: td { border: 1px solid rgba(204, 204, 204, 1) }br { }Alabama, Arizona, Arkansas, Colorado, Florida, Georgia, Idaho, Indiana, Iowa, Kansas, Kentucky, Louisiana, Maryland, Michigan, Mississippi, Missouri, NC, Ohio, Oklahoma, Pennsylvania, South Carolina, South Dakota, Tennessee, Texas, Utah, Virginia, Wisconsin, and Wyoming.)
Work Schedule: Prefer EST or CST. Part-time, 10-20 hours a week. Flexible on hours, but will need to be during business hours.
Duration : 3-4 months

Job Description Summary

This position is responsible for providing writing support, proofreading, and editorial review. The individual will coordinate with staff, interview subject matter experts, research, and write in-depth about various subjects to create documentation. The technical writer must ensure that assigned projects are completed on time, within budget, and to customer satisfaction. May be required to document processes or procedures in standard office software or through graphical tools. Ensures thorough and complete copy editing and proofing of materials for grammatical and factual content and consistency with brand platforms.

Job Description

• Singularly creates documents based on pertinent content from instructional designers, subject matter experts, key stakeholders, existing reference materials, and other available sources

• Prepares instructor manuals and other learning-related documentation (PowerPoint presentations, reference guides, job aids, etc.)

• Interviews subject matter experts, research existing source data and other reference materials, and participate in business and project discussions as needed

• Develops documentation according to existing content/copy style and grammatical protocols; reflects the established consistent, unified voice.

• Reviews internally developed projects for grammatical and factual content, and provides final proof of text

• Maintains current knowledge of products and services

• Ensures all copy is compliant with regulatory and trademark requirements
