Job Description

Job Title: Project Assistant
Location: Los Angeles, CA 90089
Duration of Assignment: (7.5 hrs/day) approx 4 Months 
Work hours: Typically 8:30 am-5 pm, but will occasionally need to work evening or early morning hours


Description
Client is a full-service career center that hosts various annual flagship career events, including two Engineering Career & Internship Expos each year, several networking activities, and career readiness workshops. The team also manages internship courses for credit, daily on-campus recruiting activities, such as company information sessions and on-campus interviews. 

 The Client Career Connections area is part of Client Admission and Student Engagement.
  
Responsibilities:  
  • Review internship course applications including participant eligibility and maintain records of participants enrolled in the courses.
  • Grade submitted assignments for each course and coordinate with other client staff to help support the grading process.    
  • Provide appropriate guidance to international students regarding the internship courses for credit and refer students to client staff and other client offices as needed.    
  • Provide frequent status reports to the Sr. Director of Career Connections 
  • Assists in the planning and execution of client events as needed. 
  • Assists in the preparation and distribution of communication materials to students and employers.   
  • Provides exceptional customer service to students, employers, alumni, and staff.  
  • Performs other related duties as assigned or requested.

Preferred Education and Qualifications:  
  • Bachelor’s degree
  • Ability to work occasional evenings or weekends.
  • Proven skill in developing and maintaining accurate, organized records, files, and filing systems. 
  • Ability to be flexible and adaptable in the face of changing priorities and fluctuating workloads.   
  • Strong organizational and time management skills, with a proven ability to meet deadlines; able to effectively prioritize, delegate, and execute multiple tasks..
  • Experience in working with MS Office and database programs.
  • Excellent written communication skills, with the ability to independently compose letters, emails, and memos; ability to proofread and edit client communication. 
  • Excellent verbal communication, including over the phone and public speaking.
  • Multicultural competencies and the ability to work with diverse populations.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills, demonstrating sensitivity, tact, patience, and diplomacy at all levels.
  • Demonstrated ability to work effectively and efficiently in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment
  • Demonstrated ability to exercise sound judgment with understanding and sensitivity to identify those decisions and activities that require higher-level consultation or group collaboration.
