Job Description

Title: Project Manager - IT
Duration: 6 – 12 months
Location: Remote
 
Job Purpose:
  • Delivers business solutions that meet user acceptance criteria and departmental standards by managing information systems projects from beginning to end.
  • Essential Job Results Delivers reliable high performance business solutions and technical services that meet user acceptance criteria and departmental standards by managing all aspects of information systems projects.
  • Performs risk assessments and develops response strategies.
  • Forms and manages project teams to develop technical specifications and monitor project results. Coordinates development of project scope, milestones, phases and resource requirements.
  • Evaluates project progress by tracking activity, overcoming obstacles, providing updates and recommending course corrections as needed. Prepares technical reports to summarize project results and trends.
  • Builds effective client relationships by managing and meeting expectations, ensuring appropriate communication and delivering project results.
  • Protects the Company by handling business sensitive information with appropriate confidentiality.
Experience:
  • Minimum 4 years experience managing information systems projects.
  • Current Project Management Professional (PMP) certification preferred.
  • Skills Intermediate proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite. Intermediate to Advanced experience using Microsoft Project Server.
  • Strong project management skills including the successful demonstration of leadership skills to direct, control and manage multiple, complex projects through completion.
  • Seasoned analytical, time management and written and verbal communication skills.
  • Accountability Receives operational guidance on duties, service standards and goals.
  • Exerts a positive impact on business initiatives through successful management of information systems projects.
  • Leadership Exhibits personal characteristics and professional standards that serve as a role model for others.
  • Knowledge Full functional and technical know-how to meet professional standards and succeed in the job. Keeps up to date with new technology and best practices
Education:
  • Bachelor’s Degree in Business Administration, Computer Information Systems or related field or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
Other Requirements:
  • Relationship Management Diplomatically conveys and obtains information both internal and external to the department.
  • Uses written verbal or electronic skills to communicate effectively with a variety of levels in the organization, including those less familiar with information systems terminology.
  • Problem Solving Plans and scopes length and difficulty of complex, multi-faceted projects. Uses rigorous logic and decision making methodology.
  • Resolves defined problems and probes known sources for answers. Uses a wide degree of creativity and latitude to analyze and resolve problems. Performs root cause analysis.
  • May provide guidance and serve as a technical resource to less experienced IT Project Office staff.
