Role: Production Supervisor / Engine Assembly Supervisor Location: Redford Township, MI, 48239 Duration: 12 months assignment (Potential to Conversion) Shift Schedule: Midnight shift, 11 pm – 7 am Sunday - Friday
Job Description: Summary: The main function of the Engine Assembly Supervisor Midnight Shift is to supervise and coordinate the activities of production and operating workers.
Job Responsibilities:
Recommend measures to motivate employees and to improve production methods, equipment performance, product quality, or efficiency.
Review operations and confer with technical or administrative staff to resolve production or processing problems.
Develop and implement production tracking and quality control systems, analyzing production, quality control, and maintenance to detect production problems.
Hire, train, evaluate, and discharge staff, and resolve personal grievances.
Prepare and maintain production reports and personnel records.
Skills:
Verbal communication skills, attention to detail, and problem-solving skills.
Ability to work independently and manage one’s time.
Knowledge of raw materials, production processes, quality control and other techniques for maximizing the effective manufacture and distribution of goods.
Knowledge of machines and tools, including their designs, uses, repair and maintenance.
Knowledge of design techniques, tools and principals involved in production of precision technical plans, blueprints, drawings and models.
Education/Experience:
High school diploma or GED required. Bachelor's degree in business/engineering or related field preferred.
1-2 years’ experience required, more is preferred.
If candidates don’t have supervisory experience but do have plant engine assembly or production type roles experience, then 5 years of experience or more.
Verbal communication skills, attention to detail, and problem-solving skills.
Knowledge of machines and tools, including their designs, uses, repair and maintenance.
Knowledge of design techniques, tools and principals involved in production of precision technical plans, blueprints, drawings and models.
