Job Description:
Overview:
We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced contractor to join our team as Product Owner - Quantitative Platforms. This role is crucial for managing the requirements and implementation of various specialty products and services within our investment management organization. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in technology applications for investment management, and will be adept at working with data, predictive models, and various investment strategies.
 
Key Responsibilities:
  • Requirements Management: Collaborate with stakeholders to understand and document business requirements, data flows, and user experience needs.
  • Implementation Oversight: Manage the end-to-end implementation of quantitative platforms, ensuring alignment with business objectives and efficient delivery.
  • Data Integration: Work with vendor data (e.g., Compustat, Morningstar) to support investment strategies and predictive models.
  • Model Development: Utilize predictive models and associated statistical evaluation metrics to drive investment decisions.
  • Technical Collaboration: Interface with software development and support teams to deliver and enhance working software efficiently using the Agile Scrum process.
  • Stakeholder Communication: Maintain clear and consistent communication with all stakeholders to ensure project alignment and successful outcomes.
 
Qualifications:
  • Experience: Proven experience in financial services, with a strong focus on investment management
  • Technical Skills: Proficiency in Python and SQL for data manipulation and analysis
  • Quantitative Expertise: In-depth knowledge of predictive models, statistical evaluation metrics, and various investment strategies
  • Data Management: Experience with vendor data (e.g., Compustat, Worldscope, IBES, Morningstar, Bloomberg) and its application in investment management
  • Agile Methodology: Strong understanding of Agile Scrum processes, with the ability to interface effectively with development teams
  • Agile Certified Product Owner (ACPO) certification is a plus
  • Communication: Excellent communication skills, with the ability to articulate complex requirements and technical details to both technical and non-technical stakeholders
 
Must Haves:
  • Understand Investment Industry
  • Experience Data (python/SQL code)
  • CFA (certs a HUGE plus)
