Job Description:
Woot! is the original daily deals website and continues its longstanding tradition of having people who look at our work and say "hey that shouldn't work, what on earth are you doing?" If you're still reading, hopefully it is because you are as ridiculous as we are and want to help us find ways to entertain folks while also providing them new and fun ways of hunting for amazing deals on products at prices that perplex them in a positive way. We are looking for a creative, open-minded results-oriented product manager to help us deliver an incredible experience on mobile devices and on the desktop that is addictive, enjoyable, and occasionally productive by developing various shopping methods, shenanigans, and social interactions for customers to hang out with us every day.

Description:

You should be great at writing and verbal communications, and not afraid to ask tough questions and challenge the status quo (the boogie rock band from the 60s and the existing state of affairs).

What you'll do:
  • Look at data both internally and externally to find awesome ways of selling stuff, entertaining customers, and getting them to visit every day.
  • Create creative, unconventional, and addictive experiences for both shopping and time-wasting in our app and on our site, and on Alexa. The carrier pigeon is already pretty wacky, though.
  • Work with various folks internally to build, market, and manage the full product lifecycle of these experiences.
  • Seek out new opportunities and ways to grow Woot's business. Yeah, we gotta make a buck too. It's a thing.
  • Identify and track metrics on how your initiatives are doing to various levels of Woot and the client leadership.

Basic Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's Degree
  • 5+ years of Product Management experience
  • Intermediate ability to write and edit SQL
  • Experience communicating technical concepts to a non-technical audience
  • Experience coordinating product development cycles, software development schedules, and launching products to customers

  • Strong analytical and quantitative skills; ability to use hard data and metrics to back up assumptions and evaluate outcomes
  • Demonstrated ability to translate customer needs into business and product requirement
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Bias for action; able to manage multiple projects across multiple teams and priorities while delivering results in an ambiguous environment
